Public transport
KTEL buses work very well in Santorini. From the airport, you can take a local bus that will take you to Fira, where the main station is. And there are buses from Fira to all cities on the island. The cost can vary from 1.80€ to 2.50€ per person per route.

Accommodation tip
If you don't want to pay a lot and stay on the hill, you can stay in Kamari like we did. A nice town with a beach, many restaurants and supermarkets. Another good option for staying is Perissa (just over the hill).
I can't recommend your accommodation because it is no longer available for booking, but there are more hotels/airbnb in this town.
