Holiday in Turin, Italy
Trent Gertz
Available for hire
Spend a weekend in Turin, Italy's first capital, gem of the North!
After living here for a year, I've come across many good restaurants, bars, shopping, and activities.
Whether you want to watch Torino FC play in The Olympic Stadium from the Olympics that were held here in 2007, or the mighty Juventus at Allianz Stadium. Or even if you want a haircut at the best place in town by my barber, Roberto.
Sitting down at Pastificio Defilippis for the best pasta in town, or taking a day trip to Alba or Asti to taste some historical Piedmont Wine, Turin and the Piedmont region has it all!
The view of the Italian, Swiss, and French alps is truly unbeatable and absolutely magical.

Porta Nuova
@trentgertz
Porta Nuova is the main Train Station in Central Turin. Any train to surrounding cities, other cities in Italy and other countries will go out of here. Also this is a hub for most inner city busses/trams as well as the metro which takes you either south of Porta Nuova or West.. There is also small cafes and some retail shopping, as well as a grocery store inside of Porta Nuova.

Torino Airport
@trentgertz
Turin Airport is a small airport not too far out of the city. You can use the app "FREENOW" to order a taxi to drive there (30 minutes) and about 28-40 Euros. Another option is by "Aeroporto bus" which is a big blue bus that costs around 7.50 EURO and takes a little bit longer, but drops you off at a few different stops, the main ones being Porta Susa which is another big train station in Turin, but the main stop and the last stop is right near Porta Nuova in the City Center and is right near the Metro.

Allianz Stadium
@trentgertz
Allianz Stadium is home to the mighty Juventus. It is a little bit far out of the City Center. It is an easy bus ride from Porta Nuova on the 11 Bus and then a 10 minute walk, but there are other bus routes as well. Taxi's are also available to take but can be a little more expensive than the one way bus ticket of about 1.70 Euro. It is a super fun stadium and very new and is a great atmosphere!

Basilica of Superga
@trentgertz
The basillica in Superga is breathtaking. It is most easily accessable by taxi, but you can also take a bus to the tram that takes you up the hill, but can be pricey. Most effective way would be to take a taxi up the hill to the Basillica. Enjoy the breathtaking views of Turin while pearched above the city, and explore inside the Basillica as well. After exploring, walk down the main hill road 2 minutes to CHEERS, which is a fun spot to eat at and have aperitivo or just drinks. It is not very expensive and has amazing views!

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Trent Gertz
Available for hire
Hello! My name is Trent Gertz and I am 21 years old, graduating from Boise State University this May of 2024. I recently moved back to the United States after living abroad in Turin, Italy for 1 year. While abroad I discovered my passion for travel while visiting 26 different countries and 45+ breathtaking cities. I had many early wakeup calls that would start a new adventure when the alarm went off, whether it was hopping on a train, plane, bus, or locals offering rides. I have gained so much knowledge through the weekly journeys, whether that be culture, costs, transportation, dining, or housing accommodations. I feel that through all the speedbumps that each trip threw at me I now can confidently say I can effectively plan and travel all through Europe no matter the circumstances. I am very knowledgeable within the USA as well as I come from a family of airline pilots and flight attendants, so I was born with the angst to see the world and understand all it has to offer. I am happy that I am now able to share my knowledge and experience with others to help others fall in love with traveling as much as I have.
