Place Furstemberg
@hilaryinparis
A picture-perfect French street scene. My memory of discovering this place: I was with a French friend and we turned the corner and he said, "Oh my god! My grandparents have a painting of this courtyard in their living room. I knew it was on the left bank but I always wondered where!" As soon as you turn the corner, you will understand!
It's also right next to the Musee Eugene Delacroix.

Lavirotte Building
@hilaryinparis
Did you know that men back in the day are just as immature as they are now? Walk past this art-nouveau door to understand why! (Admittedly... this is pretty funny.) Please click the Atlas Obscura link below to read more about this entertaining building!

Flame of Liberty
@hilaryinparis
The Liberty Flame is just by Pont d'Alma, and doubles as a memorial space for Princess Diana as she crashed in the nearby/underground tunnel. With peekaboo views of the Eiffel Tower across the river, this is worth a quick stop if you are a Diana fan!
This is technically on the right bank! But Pont de l’Alma is literally a bridge connecting the two sides and this is juuust over the bridge, so I’m throwing it in here.

Galerie SCENE OUVERTE
@hilaryinparis
Stumbling upon this hidden-in-plain-site courtyard is so fun! Wander through this urban art space and pause to have a coffee if you have time.

Rue de la Colombe
@hilaryinparis
This short, cobbelstoned street may not look like much, but about halfway down you can find a path going through the cobblestones that is where the first wall of Paris was built to protect the city, back when the city was only located on Ile de France itself.

Hello et bonjour ! I'm (another) American in Paris.
I've lived in France since 2016 and I loooove sharing my Paris & France recs in hopes I can help others love this city and country as much as I do. I'm quite confident I've seen more of France than most French people, so no matter what you're looking for, I've (probably) done it!
✅ What I'm a great fit for: Mature travelers, couples, solo travelers, and families who enjoy soaking in authentic experiences, great food and wine, off-the-beaten-track gems, classic sites, and sustainable travel.
🌱 What's sustainable travel about? Traveling in a way that is kind to the environment, respectful of local culture, & supportive of the local economy. My trip-planning services are always through a sustainable lens.
❌ What I'm not a great fit for: Travelers focused on bars/clubbing or high-end shopping.
