Breakfast
No better way to start a day of adventuring, than with a good breakfast! This local shop in Trumansburg offers the most delicious breakfast sandwiches and goodies. This spot also sell a bunch of local New York eats, snacks and treats to bring home with you.
Explore Taughannock Falls State Park
Start off by driving to the Falls Overlook to catch the beauty of Taughannock Falls from above. This overlook is just steps away from the parking lot, and is viewable without stairs, with another option to get a bit closer view by descending two small sets of stairs.
TIP: Make sure to stop into the Visitor's Center to snag some local guides and maps. Bathrooms are located on the side of the Visitor's Center.
Next, drive down to the parking lot to the Taughannock Falls Gorge Trail. This trail is a must visit, and about a .9 mile hike on a relatively flat surface to reach the base of the falls.
Fun Fact: Taughannock Falls is 33 feet taller than Niagara Falls!
Note: There is an $8 parking fee for the Taughannock Falls Gorge Trail Parking Lot.
Explore Cayuga Nature Center
Drive about 5 minutes to the Cayuga Nature Center to explore their nature trails, say hello to a number of outdoor animals, and hike their 6-story Treehouse in the woods! Pay-what-you-wish donation-based admission.
Lunch @ Finger Lakes Cider House
Drive about 14 minutes to the Finger Lakes Cider House, your lunch stop for the day. They offer delicious cheese board spreads which pair perfectly with a cider flight, or grab a soup and sandwich. If the weather is nice, grab a table on the deck or down below overlooking the lake.
Explore Downtown Ithaca
Spend the afternoon exploring Downtown Ithaca by roaming the Ithaca Commons, grabbing some coffee at one of the local coffee shops, and exploring the local shops.
