What to do in Prague in 3 days

 1. Stare Mesto: Astronomical Clock and Church of Our Lady before Tyn

Start your day in the heart of Prague, at Stare Mesto, the historic centre. Walk through its streets, passing by the great Powder Tower, and follow the famous Celetná street until you reach Staroměstské náměstí, the oldest square in the city. Here you will find the incredible Astronomical Clock, a symbol of Prague, which offers an hourly show with the statues of the 12 apostles moving. If you wish, you can also visit the interior by taking part in a visit to the Town Hall (entrance fee €16,00).

Do not forget to visit the Church of ou lady before Tyn, easily recognizable thanks to its two high spires (Tue-Sat 10:00-13:00 and 15:00-17:00, Sunday 10:30-12:00; free admission). Come in to admire its interior and the wonderful stained glass windows.

 2. Josefov and jewish cemetery neighborhood

Spend the second part of the morning in the Josefov district, the Jewish quarter of Prague, easily accessible on foot from the Astronomical Clock. Here you will find the Old Jewish Cemetery (9:00-17:00; single ticket for all places of interest in the Jewish Quarter, full 500,00 CZK/ €20,00 approx., reduced 370,00 CZK/ €15,00 approx.), an ancient 15th century cemetery with about 12,000 tombstones, Many of which are almost absorbed by the soil. Consider a guided tour to learn more about the true history of Josefov.

Continue to Charles Bridge, the most famous bridge in the city, which connects Stare Mesto to the Lesser Town. Built in 1357, it is 520 m long and offers beautiful views of the city. Don’t miss the visit to the Charles Bridge Tower for a panoramic view of the bridge and river (times 10:00-18:00/21:00, entrance fee 150,00 CZK/€6,10).

 4. Golden Lane, Prague Castle and St. Vitus Cathedral

Start your second day at Wenceslas Square, one of the most important squares in Prague. Here you will find the National Museum of Prague (daily 10:00-18:00; full admission 280,00 CZK/€11,15), the most important museum in the city.

After your visit to the museum, head to the Dancing House, one of the most photographed buildings in the capital, just 20 minutes' walk from the museum. This example of modern architecture is dedicated to the dancing couple Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire.

Continue to the Petřín Lookout Tower (9:00-20:00 approx; full 220.00 CZK/ €9.00), which can be reached by cable car. From the top of the tower, enjoy the panoramic view over the city and then stroll through the Petřín Gardens, a lovely green area.

In the late afternoon, explore the Lesser Town district, where you will find John Lennon’s Wall, one of Prague’s most iconic attractions. End the evening in Wenceslas Square, the heart of the city’s nightlife.

End your day in the old town by visiting the Žižkov Television Tower, the tallest building in Prague (daily 9:00-00:00; adults 300,00 CZK/ €12,00). The 360° panoramic view from the top is the perfect way to end your trip to Prague.

Spend the afternoon at Prague castle (from April to October 5.00-24.00, from november to march 6.00-23.00). Climb up the Golden Lane, admiring its colorful houses. At Prague Castle, enjoy the view and visit the Cathedral of Saint Vitus, one of the largest churches in Europe (Mon-Sat 9:00-17:00, Sun 12:00-17:00; entrance included in the Castle ticket).

End the day with an evening cruise on the river, one of the most beautiful things to do in Prague. The departure is near the Čech Bridge and lasts 50 minutes.
