Tunisia // 2 Week Itinerary and Guide
Welcome! And thanks for reading my guide to Tunisia! 🇹🇳
I traveled to Tunisia solo in early June of 2022. Not only is Tunisia easy to travel in as a solo female, the friendly people and relaxed atmosphere made me feel safe and welcomed. Tunisia has a small population of only 12 million people so that probably lends to its laid back vibe.
Tunisia is a Muslim country and a very progressive one at that. Get ready to hear the call to mosque! With 1000s of years of history involving many different cultures and religions (Phoenician to Roman to Arab to Ottoman to French) setting up shop there, the history is rich in this country. In fact Tunisia is where the Arab spring began in the early 2010s. That revolution eventually led to a thorough democratization of the country, to free and democratic elections and to some of the most progressive laws for women's rights in the Islamic world.
• Overview
This is a two week itinirary where I took 1 flight and highered 2 drivers. In hind site, knowing how safe the roads are, I would have rented a car to do a loop from Tunis to Tozeur, south-east through the desert, to the coast and then back to Tunis.
