Playas del Coco is only about 30 minutes from the Liberia Airport, so you won't spend a long time traveling after landing! Although Coco Beach isn't the most breathtaking beach in the area, the vibrant town atmosphere, restaurants with live music, and the comfort of having anything you may need at your fingertips, make it one of the best places to stay in Guanacaste.

Several stunning beaches with crystal-clear water are just about five minutes away from Coco. Not to mention, Playas del Coco is one of the best beaches to watch the sunset from due to its location on the coast!

This town’s central location (and fun atmosphere) make it a tried and true place to stay in Guanacaste. It’s a perfect launching pad for just about any activity or destination in the surrounding area.

What's the weather like?

Playas del Coco is located in Guanacaste, one of the seven provinces of Costa Rica. Of all of Costa Rica, Guanacaste has the least amount of rain! That means that whichever month you are coming to visit, you will likely enjoy a sunny morning and hot, tropical weather.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Hi! I'm Kimi, your Costa Rica expert! ☀️ I've been living in Guanacaste, Costa Rica for three years now, but I have been a repeat traveler to CR since 2016! My experiences have enabled me to create carefully crafted content inspired by local knowledge ✨ ➡️ Living in Costa Rica has given me the opportunity to get to know Costa Rica's top destinations authentically. Before living in Guanacaste, I lived in Heredia, outside of San Jose, for 5 months. From Tamarindo to Puerto Jimenez, Monteverde to Uvita, Puerto Viejo to Playas del Coco, I've had the opportunity to travel to all different destinations & discover many hidden gems off the typical Costa Rica itinerary. As far as types of travel, I'm a big advocate of slow travel, but I have done many different kinds of travel within CR. I have planned or helped others plan backpacking, family, & girl trips to this beautiful country. Working as an international teacher has given me a different perspective in advising longer trips to Costa Rica. I've learned many tips and tricks for finding community, getting around without a car, leasing an apartment, learning Spanish, renting a vehicle, and thriving in the hot province of Guanacaste 🏜 It's very important to me, as a traveler, that I understand the cultural context of the country I am traveling to. My goal is to help my clients feel comfortable and confident in Costa Rica, while respecting this country's unique norms and culture. My itineraries & guides are designed with all kinds of travelers in mind. From solo traveling to family trips, I've helped many people plan their dream vacation to Costa Rica. My goal is for you to experience Costa Rica at its most authentic, getting to know and interact with its unique culture and biodiversity. I’m excited for all that awaits you when you answer the call to this natural wonderland. I’m happy to help in whatever way I can along the way! Pura vida! https://costaticatravel.com/
