Ultimate guide through Belgium - 3 day itinerary

Ultimate guide through Belgium - 3 day itinerary

Eliska Hradecna
This is a pretty detailed step-by-step guide where you are going to find the best possible way how to explore and really experience one of the best cities along the Belgium! What to see, what to eat, how much it will cost... Everything you need! Beside that, everything I write about I have experienced by myself, so you don´t have to worry about false informations. Suitable for all seasons of the year and usefull for lowcost travelers as well. Important: the prices may change after some time, so keep it in mind! I have traveled there in 2024. If you would like to know more or you don´t understand something, you can always send me a message. I would love to help!

Welcome to Belgium! A country famous for its perfect chocolate, sweet fluffy waffles, breathtaking architecture, and beautiful nature! You will experience a tasting of authentic Belgian chocolate at the largest chocolate museum in the world, located in Antwerpen. You'll also explore the fairytale-like architecture and delightful macarons in Bruges, the mysterious churches in Ghent, and the very heart of Belgium, Brussels. Dive into the extraordinary Belgian culture and enjoy a sweet reward along the way!

How to get from the airport to the centre and back?

After landing at the Brussels South Charleroi Airport, you’ll find yourself located a bit further from the city center. To kick off your adventure, head to the bus stop marked Flib.co. You will find it on the left, right as you exit the airport. After descending a few stairs to the smaller yellow bus stop behind the building of Flib.co, hop on the A3 bus (€6.00) towards Luttre Gare SNCB. The bus runs every 30 minutes, and you can purchase tickets at the machine next to the bus stop or directly from the driver (cash only).

Charleroi Airport is the southern airport in Belgium. Usually people fly here instead to the north airport closer to the centre. It is because the flights are usually much cheaper...

Once you arrive at Luttre, you have to catch a train to Brusxelles Midi. Trains depart every 30 minutes, and the bus and train connections are only about 10 minutes apart. Consider downloading the SNCB app to purchase tickets and check train schedules. A ticket to Bruxelles Midi will cost you (€7.50).
