1 day in Berlin:

I went to Berlin with a friend. We went there by train. This was our first train trip. It was super nice and comfy. We arrived at the central station.

Berlin Central Station
@jente
The central place for all public transport. I felt like this station was pretty easy to navigate. If you have any difficulties navigating trough this station there are multiple service points around the station.

After arriving we decided to check in our hotel first:

Apple City Hotel
@jente
This was our stay for the night. It was allright but if were to stay for a couple of nights I probably would have picked a different hotel.

After checking in it was finally time to explore the historical and modern city of Berlin.

Reichstag Building
@jente
We only saw the building from the outside. There are possibilities to go inside. I felt like the line was to long.

After visiting this impressive building we walked trought the gartens that you see when standing on the right side of the building.

Memorial to Europe's Sinti and Roma Murdered Under Nazism

When walking trough the gartens we came across the sinti en roma monument. This is a memorial for the roma people. I didn't take pictures myself because it didn't feel right. There are stories from the roma people in the gartens. It's a beautiful memorial. After visiting this memorial we continued our walk trough the gartens.

Brandenburg Gate
@jente
It's very crowded in this area but it was pretty easy to take a quick picture without people on it.

The Brandenburger Tor is one of the most iconic buildings in German. It's the most famous gate to enter the city. We had our lunch right next to this building. The Brandenburger Tor is a must visit in my opinion!

Mama Trattoria Berlin Mitte
@jente
We had our lunch here. It wasn't to expensive and it also wasn't to busy when visiting. I had a great experience. The food arrived really fast.

After our lunch we continued our walk to more historical buildings and monuments!

Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe
@jente
Don't forget to read the sign near this monument with the explanation for it's design ;)

After visiting the Holocaust memorial we walked further down the road. This monument made a big impression on me. It's very interesting to learn more about this event but learning more about it in Berlin itself is a special experience as well.

Segment der Berliner Mauer
@jente
This was very interesting to see. For me it was insane to see the past vs present. The berlin wall vs the modern skyscrapers.

We stayed pretty long at the segment of the Berlin wall. There was so much information on the signs and it was just crazy to see the design of the wall. It a crazy representation of the past vs present.

Topography of Terror
@jente
We only visited the outside line of the monument. We didn't go downstairs to look at whatever was there. For us it was to busy. There was also a monument/museum which you could enter.

After a quick visit to this monument of the Berlin wall we continued our way to one of the other highlights of the city. I recommend visiting the Berlin wall segment and monument. It's impressive to see and to see the design of the wall that seperated East and West Berlin.

Checkpoint Charlie
@jente
This was very much worth the visit however we didn't stay to long as it was insanely crowded. Don't fall for the gambling scams they were doing around this place. There are multiple Cold War exhibition areas around this checkpoint.

Checkpoint Charlie was very much worth our visit but it was also very crowded and people were getting scammed. After Checkpoint Charlie we had a coffee break at a coffeeshop around this place. After that we continued our walk around the city.

Neue Kirche
@jente
We didn't go inside the Dom but the outside was very nice. We just got ourselves a nice Pretzel and ate it at the side of the Dom where we found a nice place to sit and relax.

This Dom wasn't on our initial list but when walking around the city spontaniously we came across this Dom. It was very nice and it looked stunning. After this walk it was almost evening and time for us to go for our last activity: A boattour over the Spree. I highly recommend doing one as it was so beautiful and it was a very relaxing end to our day.

After this boattour we ended our evening looking for a place to eat some typical German food!

Zollpackhof
@jente
This beergarten was the perfect way to end our trip. It's a great place and the food was delicious!

This beergarten was the perfect way to end our trip! It was amazing to visit this city and to get a better feeling for it. I feel like we saw a lot in just one day. I think you could defenitly spend another day (or two) in this city.
