Hi there. I did an internship in Dublin for a month and explored Dublin and nearby places. I lived with a family and got some great tips. I had great adventures, learned a lot from my mistakes and had the best time. You want to see all my favorite places I recommend? The best coffee shops, restaurants and travel tours. Because I stayed with a family, I can't recommend accommodations, but there are a lot in Dublin. I noted the tips I always use to find a good place.

Somerhing you should definetely try is the irish breakfast. It's a must when you're there.

I don't know how the lunch and dinner is. For me the surounding is better for a breakfast but it's not that expensive so worth a try.

It's a really small cafe shop and doesn't has as much of opportunitys than KC Peaches. But because it's smaller it gives you a comfy feeling. And the coffee they sell, come with a picture. And I'm talking about a colorful picture, not just a milkpicture.

I went here and it was the best desicion this evening. It's not that expensive for the main meal but the price of the desserts are compared higher. But for a meal definetely recommended.

There are a lot of pubs you can go for a portion of chips or something else. If you scroll down, you will find my favorites.

They have great Donut's everywhere. That was my favorite but you will find a lot more there.

Than there is Dunnes store. And it's the best place to find cheap food. They have fresh food for take away andthe best part for the sushi lovers. There are fresh sushis they prepare everyday and they are cheap.

If you go to Ireland, you should go at least one time to a pub and order a pint Guimess. Or a half pint. These were my favorits. I also was in the temple bar but went outside right away. It was to crowded. So if thats okay with you, go for it but I prefered this a lot more.

Something else you should know before you travel to Dublin, it's expensive and the accommodation even more so. But there are some tips on how to save money. You will find out everything when you read this.

Here you will find all the buses to get from A to B. I promise you, the buses and trains are really complicated. So take your time when traveling with them.

Dublin, the capital city of Ireland, is a vibrant and historic destination with a rich cultural heritage. Here are 15 must-see attractions in Dublin:

1. Trinity College: Ireland's oldest university, Trinity College is famous for its stunning Old Library and the Book of Kells, a beautifully illuminated medieval manuscript. (The old Library will close soon for 5 years. You can still visit it, but it won't be in the beautiful wooden library and I think with screens and pictures [got the information at the 8. Juli 2023]) I did the campus tour and it was really interesting to get background information. Historical stories and a tour guide who has humor.

2. Guinness Storehouse: Learn about the history of Ireland's iconic Guinness beer at the Guinness Storehouse. Enjoy panoramic views of Dublin from the Gravity Bar on the top floor.

3. Dublin Castle: Explore the grounds of Dublin Castle, which has served as a symbol of British rule and Irish independence. Don't miss the stunning State Apartments.

4. Temple Bar: Visit the Temple Bar neighborhood, known for its lively pubs, restaurants, and live music scene. It's a great place to experience Dublin's vibrant nightlife.

5. St. Patrick's Cathedral: As the largest cathedral in Ireland, St. Patrick's is a must-see. Marvel at its Gothic architecture and explore its beautiful interior. It also has some weird things to explore in there. I won't spoil you.

6. Kilmainham Gaol: Take a guided tour or explore it yourself, a former prison that played a significant role in Ireland's struggle for independence. It offers a look into the country's history.

9. Phoenix Park: Escape the city bustle at Phoenix Park, one of Europe's largest urban parks. Enjoy a walk or bike ride, visit Dublin Zoo, or explore the historic residences within the park.

10. Grafton Street: Wander along Grafton Street, Dublin's premier shopping district. It's filled with trendy shops, street performers, and charming cafes.

12. Darkey Kelly stairs: The stairs just look like normal stairs, but the historical story behind them is inspiring. I did a free tour there; you can pay a tip as much as the tour was worth it. (It was, of course, not just about this story.) You will get a lot of information about the city and its history.

I think because you can tip them as much as you want, it's a better tour. They need to be good to get more money, so they will do their best to engage with you. So I can totally recommend it.

13. Ha'penny Bridge: It's not spectacular, but you will walk on it anyway. The name comes from half a penny, because the people needed to pay a half penny to cross this bridge. And for romantic people or someone who wants to propose, it's the perfect spot. It's a bridge where 1000 love stories happened. A lot of couples met in the middle of the bridge, got engaged there, or had their first kiss there.

14. National Botanic Garden: It was one of my favorite places, but it's not right in the middle of the city. Entry is free, and the garden is magical. It's a huge garden, with big trees, a lot of flowers, botanic houses, a river and more. They even have raspberry strokes!

1. Howth: It was my favorite trip when I was in Dublin. Maybe also because the weather was the best on this day. I even jumped in the ocean. You should check this place out if you're in Howth.

11. The Chester Beatty Library: It's a free museum with a religious theme. It has something from every religion and you can find one of the ancient Qur'ans. It has beautiful Chinese manufractures and books and a lot more.

2. Malahide Castle & Gardens: A beautiful Castle with a garden, a butterfly house, a ghost story and much more. It's not free, but it's for a fair price.

About the walking route: you can walk this route, but that doesn't include the hidden beach. You will need to walk a little bit further down to the south.

Or you can drive with the bus longer and get out of it later. That's what I did and then I went first to the Baily Lighthouse. What's also not included in the loop if you start at this point. There weren't a lot of tourists. And after it, you can walk in the direction of the loop and do the half of it.

But there are a lot of beautiful trails. I just did this one.

And never forget to put your arm out to give the bus driver a signal to stop. Otherwise, he will drive past you.

3. Cliffs of Moher: Everyone told me I needed to have good weather to see them and of course that would be great. I had the first 10 minutes, then it got foggy and started raining, but it was still beautiful.

You should definitely walk the trail down to your right when arriving at the Cliffs. Don't stop at the stairs, go down and you will get the greatest few with fewer people. I would recommend taking a tour if you travel from Dublin. It's not that easy to go there with public transportation, it takes too long. But of course, you don't have the freedom to decide for yourself.

❗️❗️❗️I booked a tour of them and was more than happy. They told me a lot of backgroundstorys and history. I didn't do this tour because I traveled around Ireland so it wasen't nesecairy. You won't just see the Cliffs but also some other destinations.

4. Aran Island: It's near the Cliffs of Moher and I would've loved it to visit them but after the Cliffs of Moher I had bad weather so I would've not seen much. 

Giant Causaway: It's a must see if you go to Ireland and really impressive! You can also walk to the Amphitheatre.

The dark Hedges: That's probably something for all the Game of Thrones fans. But if you're not a fan it's still impressive.

Also for this two destinations I don't recommend to go with public transportation. You will need to much time. If you still want to go by public transportation to the Giant Causeway thats possible. By a direct bus. But inform yourself first. The bus drives like 2 or 3 times a day.

(additional tip Bray: It's not in Dublin Country anymore, but right next to it and with bus numbers 145 and 155, you will get down there. The city is great, but I wouldn't go there just because of that. They have a swan sanctuary. It's not that beautiful around it, but when you are there, you should check it out. The beach is really long and there is a promenade to walk along. But the best part is the walking trail. There are two. I planned on doing the cliff walk, but at this time it was dangerous, so I decided to do the mountain walk and it was great.)

7. National Museum of Ireland: This museum houses extensive collections of Irish archaeology, art, and natural history. There are three of them. Don't miss the stunning gold artifacts in the Treasury section. And the best thing, it's for free!

Of course there are a lot others and you will probably find others you like.

15. Dun Laoghaire: It's a beautiful place in Dublin Country. You can walk all along the coast. At some point, you will get to a small, free James Joyce museum if you're interested. The people there are so nice and if you like it, you can give them a tip.

When you go on Sunday, you will find a food market there and you can try a lot of different foods. I was there two times, and both times it was great.

There is also the coolest coffee shop you will ever find! It's called the Jungle. I couldn't find a link to add here, but you will find it when searching for it on Google.

I also feel like Fish and Chips is a must have in Ireland.

What's also nice to know, they drink tea with milk. I tryed it and I even like it better with milk. I know for some it sounds weard. But try it and you will probably like it.
