4-Day Cape Town Itinerary

4-Day Cape Town Itinerary

Angel McQuade
This Cape Town Itinerary is from hours and hours or research and planning that I did for my own trip Cape Town plus more that I discovered during my visit - places and what I wished I knew. I did all the research for you so you'll get information on the best time to go, places to stay - from boutique experiences to hotel chains, transportation options, a curated list of activities and places to eat, hiking trails, shopping spots, and more. This is a day-to-day format, so you can follow the itinerary as it is and have a memorable time in Cape Town, or you can also use this as a jumping point for your own research and mesh them together to have an experience that is especially for you. Welcome to Cape Town

Cape Town is one of South Africa’s three capital cities, with a very diverse list of destinations – from the beaches to the mountains, a taste of Italy and of France. These are the places you can visit on your trip to Cape Town.

Best Time to Go

This itinerary includes swimming and snorkeling so it is best for the warmer months, but if you’re not planning to get in the water, this itinerary can be enjoyed year round. I personally prefer to go on the shoulder season because there’s less crowd and it’s not as pricey. Cape Town’s “cold” goes around 55-68 degrees anyway, so it’s not so bad.

Peak Season: November to February where it’s warm and sunny, but like peask seasons everywhere. it’s more crowded and more expensive to visit.

Shoulder Season: March-April & September-October

Where to Stay

Because this itinerary is shorter, I recommend having a home-base hotel in Cape Town and just drive around.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Angel McQuade
Hiii! I'm Angel and I am gonna help you plan your trips so you don't have to stress about everything. I've been to 46 countries in 6 continents, and most of them I explored DIY. I've done the research for every place I visit and actually living out the plan, I see what works and what can make the experience better. It's like a self-check of what the internet tells you to do vs what you can actually do when you're there, and I'm giving you first-hand tips from my personal experiences. I’m a Mariott and Hyatt member so if you are too, you’re in luck because all of my itineraries have these stay options. I've been planning trips for my family and friends for about 10 years now because creating itineraries is just fun for me. I even give them tips like which side to sit on the train to get a better view and they love details like that! I was born and raised in the Philippines and moved to Los Angeles in 2020 (yes, during the pandemic, I know I'm crazy) and I've been coming home every year since, so you'll be seeing a mix of tips, guides, and itineraries for the Philippines, LA, and the places I travel to. Hope you enjoy it!
