Arrival day at Denpasar Airport

If you are arriving quite late, I recommend stopping at the closest hotel in Kuta and resting for the first night. Transfer on the island can be quite long because of the immense traffic.

The Kutaya

What's special about this place? It has its very own temple inside and waking up to the sounds of nature and perfume of offering is fantastic. About 10 minutes walk from the airport or few minutes scooter ride (riding with your backpack or small carry on is very common in Bali). The rooms are spacious and very clean, desk is open 24hours and staff are absolutely a dream. Breakfast is very Indonesian and delicious.

If you are arriving earlier, you can make your way into Seminyak, north of Kuta and enjoy a relaxing first night in one of these places, before moving to a different part of the island.

Staff are absolutely incredible. Rooms are big, with air conditioning and big, clean bathrooms. The outdoor pool has a bar in the water, making extra luxurious to have a drink at sunset. They have a big buffet breakfast, with a fresh cooked egg station and lots of delicious fruit.

It's me, hi! 👋 I am Alessia, an Italian living in Oxford since 2019. During the day I work as a Nurse in an International College and at night I am a National League volleyball player 👩‍⚕️🏐 I have been infected with the travel bug by my parents who decided to take me around Europe on their campervan for all my childhood. I had the chance to experience lots of different cultures and enjoy local food, activities and people. When I was old enough, I packed my bags and moved across the Ocean for 13 months living the American Dream as an AuPair. During those months I travelled to 22 states and checked lots of things off my bucket list. I then finally moved to the UK where I have been able to enjoy amazing campsites and road trips throughout the island. I am a happy human that always sees the positive in every situation, board games lover and a true foodie! I work as a travel coordinator and get to visit some amazing places. My dream? To see them all!!
