Stresa and Borromean Islands in a Day
I spent a day in Stresa, a lovely city in northern Italy, situated in Piedmont. The city is one of the most beautiful and luxurious of Lake Maggiore. The small villages is full of luxury hotels, nice cars, fancy restaurants but it is really accessible to anyone.
To come here from Milan I took a really cheap and fast train.
The train station is near the city, accessible by walking. The city is full of parks and green areas, perfect for a picnic. However I decided to have a picnic on the beach. I went to the supermarket Conad to buy some fresh baked goods and other things for the picnic and I set it up on the beach.
After the picnic and a stroll around the village, I decide to book the ferry to visit the Borromean Islands. You can choose to visit all three for 15€ but if you go to Isola Madre you also have to pay to enter. I ended up paying 10€ to visit Isola dei Pescatori and Isola Bella.
