Everywhere I went for an afternoon thrift / second-hand shopping in Koenji, one of my favourite areas to hang out in Tokyo! Koenji is well known for being one of the best places for preloved fashion, and here are some of the re

Reuse select Tifana
@lucylivin
A real mixed bag of thrift and consignment finds, with lots of pieces for retro lovers and quality materials (wool, cashmere, silk). The vibe gives maximalist gaudy aunty, so there are some real stellar vintage finds to be had here!

@lucylivin
Large second-hand store with a well-organised variety of pieces, primarily of fast fashion / local brands but also a pretty wild selection of designer pieces - on this visit I found a beautiful Galliano-era Dior piece. Also has a discount rack of items for 300JPY, there's a lot to dig through in this store! (Note: This store is a franchise so keep an eye out for others around Japan!)

Don Don Down
@lucylivin
The only (?) remaining location of the iconic thrift store, which does special discounts on Wednesdays. The first floor is unisex/menswear, with the second floor being a womenswear haven. Very well organised and colour coordinated, with a small selection of designer and a wide range of vintage and second-hand pieces ranging from everyday style to more unique pieces. Also has a huge sneaker / shoe selection (sizing is mostly on the small side, being Tokyo, but cool range nonetheless!)

Tatouage by ZOOL
@lucylivin
First floor is menswear, second floor is womenswear. Stock a vibrant variety of vintage pieces from Europe / America - if you're from those locales you'll likely find the pieces to be a touch overpriced to what you could find locally, but still worth a quick browse.

KIKI2
@lucylivin
KIKI's pastel little sister - a variety of fairly priced vintage knits, dresses, t-shirts and more, all in dreamy soft hues. Don't miss the gorgeous selection of Betsey Johnson prom dresses on the wall!

KIKI
@lucylivin
'Americore' is very much a thing, and you can see it in this store, with various vintage merchandise and ads adorning the shelves and walls. KIKI has a selection of colourful and kitsch second-hand pieces in vibrant primary colours and brand-name denim - very curated and definitely worth the visit!

2nd STREET Kōenji
@lucylivin
One of the better organised and well laid out second hand stores, has a large variety of select pieces from major brands like Zara and Adidas, as well as a variety of second-hand designer. (Note: This is a chain, so keep your eyes peeled for other locations!)

Treasure Factory Style
@lucylivin
One of the larger second hand stores in the area, and this is a little more chaotic (at least in my opinion) compared to others around, with a wide range of pieces and styles. (Note: This is a chain, so keep your eye out for others around for good second hand finds!)

Treasure Factory style Koenji shop
@lucylivin
Another Treasure Factory location - this one is a little more selective and upmarket then the other on the same street. Wide selection of European vintage / designer ready to wear pieces, as well as some bags and shoes. Has unisex/menswear/womenswear.

kindal koenji second hand store
@lucylivin
Located up a few flights of stairs, there are a few Kindal locations but to me this one is one for the "hypebeast" fans - Primarily unisex / menswear, lots of Supreme and other streetwear brands - I am not well versed in this particular genre of fashion but I imagine it's got some real gems for those who are into it!

BAZZSTORE Koenji
@lucylivin
Affordable second-hand clothing, more akin to your typical "thrift" store as opposed to a second-hand consignment store, albeit it's very pleasant to shop in. Absolutely stuffed racks and shelves to pick through, with a lot of local Japanese brands, and I personally found a cashmere-blend sweater for less than $25. (Note: this is a franchise / chain so keep your eyes peeled around Japan for other locations!)

Shigekuniya 55 Bakery
@lucylivin
Ranked as one of Tokyo's best bakeries in 2022, I thought about the bagel I had from here for the rest of my trip. Stocks a variety of artisan breads and pastries, but I highly recommend grabbing any of the 'plump' bagels - bonus points if it's a seasonal special!

Celeby Eye Nails + Lashes
@lucylivin
Got my nails done here on my April 2023 trip! I booked through Hot Pepper and selected their monthly design option, which allows you to pick a gel nail design from their monthly specials for a set price. Expect to spend upwards of USD$40, but also expect super cute gel nail art! Browse their Hot Pepper gallery for an idea of design pricing. Note: Staff don't cater to English speakers / foreigners, so come prepared with a booking through Hot Pepper, pictures of your desired design and a translate app!

INCredible COFFEE

Cute little coffee place - can only speak to the single iced latte I had here but it was delicious, and if you're you used to espresso style barista coffee this will give you that good good bean juice yum yum
