Matthew McLoughlin
I've stayed in many a-hostel over the years; here are my favorites. Great staff, locations, events, social life, cleanliness, or just a solid, cheap, reliable place to stay a night or two.

Porto - Selina
@matthewmcloughlin
Pros: A great community in a great corner of Porto, with a beautiful coworking space in a converted palace.
Cons: The only communal area is a restaurant, you're not allowed to hang out without buying something, and it closes early.
