Viewpoints From Above 🏞️
Both the following two locations are easily reachable from Lugano city centre. They both have funiculars, running daily during the summer time. Else you can also choose to hike both either up or down!
Monte Brè

Monte Brè is a great location for stunning Lugano views, with a restaurant at the top and hiking routes that start here, both up and down the mountain.

Monte San Salvatore

Hike to the very top of Monte San Salvatore at 912m (or take the funicular) for gorgeous 360° views towards Lugano, the Alps and Italy!

If you only have time while visiting Lugano for one of these, we would suggest Monte San Salvatore. This in our opinion is the better choice based on the views, as well as the lovely restaurant at the top.
As an extra, there is the Balcony of Italy, which is high up on the opposite side of Lugano looking down. It's a lovely viewpoint that you can drive to from Lugano.
