”💚” Are spots you MUST visit
BREAKFAST/BRUNCH🥞
A classic, grimy bunch spot. The decor is reason enough to go— classic set up w jukeboxes, vintage signs, and tatted waiters. Good ol classic brunch food. Nothing fancy. Great milkshakes.
For feeling boogie and rich. Smoothie bowl is $13 but very fun very tasty. Ideal after a workout to make you feel like you’re literally better than everyone.
A classic overpriced but very hipster brunch spot. Cute, fun, good for taking pics for da gram. Enjoyed their food too!! For sure fancier brunch.
Rec from phia (this list was a community project). Great brunch spot and potentially still has a floral/plant shop in the back?
FOOD🍱
💚Bomb Hawaiian food. For a snack, get the spam musubi (or get like 4 as a meal). I also love the Kimchi fried rice🤤
I’ve never gone here but heard great things!
Craving some mediocre but super cheap vietnamese food? This is your spot. I skipped many-a-classes in HS to come here….
Fucking delicious burgers and even more delicious fries (those nice crispy thin ones). What more is there to say?
Bakeries/Grab n’ Go🥐
💚Though it’s a bit further from you (by Lincoln park) this place has the OG DOUGNUTS! Their classic/old fashioned ones are a solid choice when in doubt. Also great hot chocolates.
A casual health-food bakery and eatery. Great kale salad (not satire) and they have this BOMB peanut butter, choco, coconut bars (currently salivating just thinking abt it).
💚Une boulangerie française. C’est obligataire.
Everything here is next level. Get the double baked almond coissant but just make sure you block off the whole rest of the day to digest it.
CAFEEEEEEES☕️
💚The plants, the indie music, the generally attractive baristas, the old man with an actual typewriter that patrons this place sometimes, the way it’s a 2 mins walk from my ex boyfriends house…. so much to love abt this place!
I grew UP at this coffee shop. It’s very much family owned (by a couple: Pete and Cam) and they’re just the sweetest. They put so much time into making their garden beautiful during COVID and sometimes (on Saturday’s?) there’s live bossanova!!
Felt stupid expensive as a high schooler so prolly just normal prices for a normal adult human. GREAT daily soups, nice places to lounge & work (casual decor vibes), but mediocre coffee.
Not the best for working at (not much table space) but they always have fun and TASTYYYY drink specials. Experimental, complex, worth it.
Not a cafe for working at (not much seating) but it’s owned by a woman who has known me since before I was born (Julie) and has DELICIOUS iced coffees and tasty pastries (big fan of the GF jam cookie thing and the spinach brioche w parmesan). The first location is closer to you but the second is my fav location.
Actividades💃
I didn’t get to go here often, but it allegedly has good grilled cheese sandwiches and is one of those game cafes.
Technically it’s also a boutique hair salon, but I’m recommending this as your one-stop-shop for $10 ballin sunglasses.
MY HOMEEEEEE
This is a one-location, west-seattle-landmark cinema. It’s super old but they revamped it a few years ago. They have some throwbacks but mostly first runs now. Popcorn is so pricy but when isn’t it— movie tickets tend to be around $12 but there are cheap days. PLS support this place I wouldn’t know how to handle it going out of biz it’s such a staple. I once skipped class and saw MIB here with 2 friends while high— great vibes!
Who would I be if I didn’t include this? You can have brunch here but it gets super busy super fast. Mostly fun to browse the vinyls & cds, remember you don’t have a record player, then buy a $1 pin and call it a day! At least you can say you’ve been.
