Verona, Italy | An Ideal Guide

According to the locals I spoke with, April-June and September-October are the best times to be here. If you wait too long and stay in June-August, you will be experiencing the blistering heat of Verona, which is also when you will be bombarded by crowds everywhere you go. Additionally, November-February is quite cold, and many businesses and activities have reduced hours of availability.

To get the most out of Verona and surrounding areas, I would recommend a stay of at least 3 days. That will allow you to experience this region fully and slowly. 

Europe is known for its public transportation, and Verona is no different. Although, this city is quite walkable, so we think you'll prefer that method most.

- 👣 Walking: The cheapest, and often most rewarding, form of transportation out there! It's easy to hit that 10,000-step goal here!

- 🚲 Bicycle / Scooter Rental: Perhaps you want to take in all the sights, but walking isn't the answer. You will find bike and scooter rentals almost anywhere. Verona Bike is the most popular ones lying around, ready for you to use.

- 🚍 ATV Bus: Azienda Trasporti Verona is the main form of public transportation here with their urban and suburban buses conecting the city and surrounding areas.

- 🚕 Taxis: While not a popular option, likely due to prices, taxis are more widely available here than in some other parts of Italia. There are various taxi apps for this, such as Free Now, ItTaxi, TaxiVerona, and Uber.

- 🚊 Train: This option is reserved for distances farther than 100km typically. For example, if you plan a weekend away outside of Verona. Trenitalia and Trenord are some of the most popular lines and are usually quite reasonable in price. You can download the phone apps and easily purchase your ticket on your phone and show your QR-code when prompted.
