Tirana is the main city of Albania, located in the centre of the country. Albania is a underrated travel destination and definitley worth a visit, maybe you just want a taste of it? Visit Tirana. All you need to know, Hotels, Restaurantes and what to do.
A very historical city that's becoming modern in a time lapse. Committed to teach you about their traditions and history, you'll find tons of Museums. Food in Albania is shared between the people on smaller plates, kind of like Tapas. Lots of vegetables, cheese and meat, very delicious.
I stayed in Albania for a month and I only showed you places I've been and approve as good.
Such a great place to have dinner, might want to reserve a table. It gets busy. The waiters are super friendly, ask for what they would recommend. We got a bit of everything of the traditional food. It's so delicious and compared to other restaurants really cheap. Definitely recommending a visit!
Beautiful place to sit outside. Good traditional food. Try the stuffed aubergine and the meatballs. You can get craft beer from the tap here. A few cat strays running around, just don't feed them please.
A traditional restaurant with very cheap food. Its delicious and all the locals are here. Though you do have to wait a while to get it. Don't come too hungry.
My favourite place to stay at Tirana. The location is perfect, from here you can walk everywhere.
The Service is exceptionally friendly and helpful. Delicious and big breakfast included, everyday a little bit different.
If you don't stay here, you might want to give the restaurant a visit for some traditional food.

You might want some more insight of how Albanian families live, then this is the right place to visit. You sleep in a room which is part of her own house, with her family photos hung up. There are 3 rooms and the two bathroom to be shared. In low-season you'll probably be alone. And she makes a big breakfast for you the next morning. You do have to check out at 10 and check in is at 1pm, there's the wrong information on booking.com.
Dive into the feeling on being bugged and spying on. Details about the time, how, when, where and who. Demonstrating real materials, videos, cameras, microphones and more. How the house it self was used during the time and how it changed within the years. Very interesting.
🎫You have to pay cash in Lek - 700/p.P.
Have a look at the unique architecture of Tirana. As architects get prizes for unique colourful buildings, you'll find a lot of them. This on was one of the most expensive ones. Used to be the Enver Hoxha Museum and is now a conference centre.
The only camping shop with actual gear in Albania. Incase you need to buy gas/ gas stove for a camping trip this is your only chance. They have a lot of decathlon articles, but if you go camping try to bring everything you need.
📞 Call them or just message them on Instagram, they answers quick! Tell them the time your about to come, otherwise they might be closed.
Its super easy to get around in Albania. Specifically in Tirana were everything is in walking distance.
Taxis often have fixed prices. If you need one from the airport to the hotel, you can pay at the counter outside with card, otherwise you'll already need cash. The ride cost 23€. You can always stop a taxi anywhere on the street or just ask your hotel to call someone. Ask the driver how much it costs before you enter the car.
Language
They speak Albanian, but you'll get through with English.
