Vienna My Top 10 Activities and why

Bus, train, plane, Vienna is a very accessible city in the center of Europa. You can pass through the city on a European tour, or just go on a long week-end to enjoy the nice vibe :)

Mostly by foot, but a bus ticket will help you out especially if your accommodation is a bit out of the city center. It is a big city to visit and some spots are further to reach. 

I did not get the Vienna Pass because it was quite expensive, but I think it depends on your plan ! If you want to do mostly inside activities, it might be a good idea, but if you prefer to wander a bit and enjoy the summer time outside, just book your visits one by one.

--> Local specialties : Sachertorte, Strudel, 

--> When to go ? Summer for a sunny time, Winter for the Christmas Markets

The first thing I would recommend if you are in your princess area! Sissi was such a nice movie when I was young. The actual story isn't as beautiful, way more sad but interesting to get to know. If you are lost, yes the Palace and the Sissi Museum are the SAME PLACE. I had a hard timing understanding that during my researches before my trip. 

This is actually Sissi's Summer Palace! It's similar to the Hofburg Palace, the guided tour tells about the same story as well, but it's bigger and has a very nice garden to visit :) 

One of my favorite things to visit in cities are Theaters <3 I love the imperial decorations and the ambiance ! This one is available for a guided tour ( no free entrance on your own) or for a spectacle of course. The visit was a bit short because it was very crowded (different guided tours at the same time according to your language) Would recommend but best to do off season

I recommend to go only if you actually like horses. The visit is guided, or you can attend a training - which lasts an hour, but bring a jacket according to the weather because it's indoor with outdoor temperature. You aren't allowed pictures inside, and they will tell the story of the school during 2 trainings - I love horses so I really liked it but it can be a bit long if you don't. Would recommend buying your entrance online before going. 

Located in the Prater Park, this is your green spot of the city to chill and have a picnic !

Go when the sun is out, and avoid at night (the colors won't be bright enough for your pictures)

I would recommend if you like art museum :) 

This place is in between 2 big museums : the National Art Museum and the National Natural History one. Pick your favorite! 

The Cathedral is in the city center surrounded by shops and cute coffees to drink a sip at :) 

Plus; the real deal is actually right across the street where you'll find the "Hundertwasser Village" with and alley with cute souvenir shops and a bar to have a drink !

I did however get the Vienna City Pass, which gets you on all public transport for 24 to 72hours. It will also get you advantages for your visits.
