Free: Tromsø, Norway - 4 Day Itinerary (Winter)
Things to know before you go
📅 When did we go: January
📅 Tips for those with a 9-to-5: We stayed from Saturday to Tuesday (take off Mon & Tue = 2 annual leave days).
🔢How many days: Since the main purpose for our trip was to see the Northern lights, it was a quick 3 night stay for us.
✈️ How to get there: Fly in to Tromsø. (Some European cities fly direct to Tromsø. We took a direct flight from Dusseldorf to Tromsø).
❄️Weather: January is still the middle of winter so bring thermals, wool layers, hand and foot warmers, water resistant jacket.
Where we stayed
For 5 people, we stayed at a 3 bedroom, 2 "bathroom" apartment.
👉The only disappointing point for this place, was that the although it said 2 bathrooms, what they meant was actually 1 shower and toilet + 1 ensuite toilet. It was a bit misleading on the website so be warned!
Cost: 339 per person

👉 Our verdict: We enjoyed this experience! Feeding the reindeer was the most fun, they were friendly and sometimes quite funny! It was also interesting to learn more about Sami culture (as we have not heard of this before) We definitely recommend! The only thing we did not expect was that the sledding is a lot slower than what we imagined it to be. 😁

Here are some bars we recommend to visit:
The oldest pub in Tromso
This pub had very cool interior and live music
