Kuala Lumpur for the perfect 2-day weekend get-away. (You can use this itinerary both if you're arriving to KL early in the morning on a Saturday and leaving on a Sunday afternoon or arriving on a Friday night)

Day 0 - If you arrived to Kuala Lumpur on a Friday night, considering the airport is a bit far off from the city center, you are probably better off going straight to your hotel. My recommendation for the area to stay would be around Bukit Bintang. This will ease your stay in many ways from transportation to exploring the city. (Bukit Bintang nightlife is vibrant and also very close to Jalan Alor street market) Another good thing is that it is surrounded by many modern shops/shopping malls which will ease your adaptation to the country. Another thing you might want to consider is that Kuala Lumpur is known as the city that makes luxury living affordable, hence you can find many good quality condo/airbnb's (many with rooftop infinity pools with a view) for a very reasonable price.

Day 1 - If you are arriving to Kuala Lumpur in the morning, go direct to your hotel/airbnb from the airport to start the journey (to drop your bags, if the check-in is not ready yet, you can always ask the front desk to keep your bags till you come back!) The best way to travel from the airport is either by vehicle since the gas costs are cheap in Malaysia or by KL express. Both are safe and reliable options that you can use, if you are a couple people, using a vehicle might be a better idea since the ability to split the cost of the ride.  I recommend using the app called "Grab" to get you picked up from the airport to your location of stay. There will be people calling 'taxi, taxi' around the exit area, do not pay attention to them since they are not authorized taxis, you can also go for a prepaid ride if you are not sure about the prices (or afraid of getting scammed), don not have cash or just looking for some more convenience.

After you leave your bags to the front desk, (I assume the time should be around 11.30am) head straight to Berjaya Times Square to exchange some money (there are multiple currency exchanges in this mall) after you have some cash money on hand, (max 200usd would be enough for a couple for everything except expensive meals/drinks and admisssion where you probably pay by credit card)  head straight to the Pavillion shopping mall to get some food and fill your belly. After you're full and happy, the time should be around 1-1.30pm and you should be ready to go to Jalan Petaling. Take a cab or call a Grab from the entrance of the mall (should only cost a couple USD to Jalan Petaling) Jalan Petaling is the Chinatown area of Kuala Lumpur where you can find hundreds of street shops/eats that sells all sorts of souvenirs, fake items (watches, purses, tshirts, etc.) to pretty much anything that you can think of. Please do not forget to negotiate (say half the price as the vendor says and go from there) and also do not forget that even though the vendors say that they are real, none of these items are real but all are fake. (this does not always mean they're bad quality, you can find good items for a good price) By the time you walk around, the time should be around 2.30pm-3pm. Walk to the Merdeka Square (a 10-15 min walk, around the area, you can also find shops that are selling good quality chinese silk to make dresses for women, keep in mind if you or anyone at your party is interested) and if you are dressed properly you can also enter Masjid Jamek (Its not a big mosque so 15min should be enough to enjoy the architecture) After you are done, take a cab/grab to your hotel, complete your check-in and get ready to go out for the evening/night, by the time. the time should be around 4pm. After getting changed, go to the KLCC park and enjoy the fabulous views of the Petronas twin towers and if interested, you can also check out the shopping mall thats underneath the towers, Suria KLCC. (You can go up the twin towers, but I will recommend you a better place where you can enjoy a 2-Michelin star dining experience while looking at the beautiful views of the towers.) By the time, it should be around 7.30pm and you should not miss your reservation on Dewakan! (This is the name of the restaurant) The best fine dining restaurant in the country, located just a few hundred meters away from the mall. Chef Darren is a true culinary master where he does magic with local ingredients and turn them into an absolute experience. (Please make sure you book in advance!) If fine dining isnt your thing, go to Jalan Alor which is in the Bukit Bintang area, there, you can find many local street eats with a vibrant atmosphere where you can truly enjoy the Malaysian culture. dont forget what they say, 'Malaysia truly Asia' and it really feels like it as you walk through the packed street. If you dont want to miss both, dont worry, we got you covered as well, cause we will be going to Jalan Alor tomorrow. After you finish your fantastic tasting menu experience on Dewakan, head straight to Marini's on 57 (located right next to the Petronas twin towers, please also make a reservation beforehand to secure your spot) for some drinks/nightlife if thats your thing while also looking at the amazing Twin tower views. (they look way better at night) When you're done, head straight to your hotel and dont forget that you will be waking up at 7am tomorrow morning!)
