Bakoven Beach
@1traveler2another
My favorite beach… so far :)
Bakoven is a rocky beach. It is easily accessible and there are tons of rocks to the left and right of the main beach that you can venture to.
Jumping from the large rocks into the electric blue waters of Bakoven Beach in Cape Town is an exhilarating experience that is sure to leave you with lasting memories.
There is a lot of space on the various rocks, the rocks are large and mostly flat. Making it the perfect picnic spot.
My favorite part is the fact that there is no sand!
PS- you may find a few topless girls sunbathing. Please don’t be creepy. Be lekker.

Camps Bay Beach
@1traveler2another
An iconic beach in Cape Town.
Beautiful crystal blue waters with pristine white sand.
The best beach to go to if you want to grab a bite or lunch afterwards. The Camps Bay Promenade has some of the best restaurants with the best views in Cape Town. Perfect for a post beach adventure.
Just check the wind before you go! It can get a little out of hand.

Clifton Beaches
@1traveler2another
I prefer Clifton 1 & 2 because they offer a great spot to swim and they are often quieter than the other beaches.
Clifton 3rd is known as the ‘gay’ beach. You are sure to find some muscular, tanned guys in speedos here.
Clifton 4th is the most famous beach. It is the safest place to swim, as there are lifeguards. However being the famous beach, means that it is often quite busy, especially during the December festive season.
Keep in mind that there are ALOT of stairs to get down to the beaches and back up to the road.
There are various stairways to enter the beaches, however all of the beaches are connected and it is easy to walk between them.
Grab a Granadilla Lolly while you are at the beach!
THURSDAYS IN SUMMER!
Friends Who Volley offer pop up volleyball tournaments in summer. See their Instagram for more :)

Oudekraal Beach
@1traveler2another
Grab your boerie and braai tongs because you can braai at this beach.
Oudekraal is a lovely spot to swim, sunbathe and braai of course.
There are also many scenic walks including the shipwreck walk, where you can see the decaying Antipolis that travelled all the way from Greece, and ended up washing ashore 44 years after sinking.
Note that there is a small entry fee for Oudekraal beach.
There is also no shop so make sure you have everything you need for your braai, including dustbin bags… leave no trace.

Maiden's Cove Tidal Pool & Glen Beach
@1traveler2another
These two beaches are located next to Camps Bay.
Glen beach is basically a much smaller version of Camps Bay and tends to be quieter than the main beach.
If you Maiden’s Cove is slightly further than Glen Beach. And has braai facilities.

Llandudno Beach
@1traveler2another
The beach has pristine white sand that glistens in the sunlight and tranquil turqiose water. If you can bear the cold- take a dip.
The beach is mostly filled with locals.

Sandy Bay, Cape Town
@1traveler2another
Llandudno’s other beach. AKA The Nudist Beach.
Yeah- you heard that right. Sandy Bay can be accessed via a 25 minute walk to the beach. The beach is completely secluded and has been dubbed the nudist beach.
If you’re brave enough, then join the locals swim in your birthday suit.

Noordhoek
@1traveler2another
AKA The Long Beach
If you are heading to Simon’s Town or Cape Point, be sure to stop by this mesmerizing beach.
If you have time why not explore the beach via horseback.
Be sure to look out for the beach when travelling along Chapman’s Peak, don’t blink because you might miss it 😉
