Places I Visited

Gonbei Sha (ごんべい舎)

This is a cute underground izakaya that specialises in fish. The staff don't speak English but there is English on the menu, and you can order using a touch screen. I had the seasonal specialty Wappa Meshi, which is steamed fish on white rice. It had a variety of seasonal fish including Shiro-ebi prawns. It was pretty good and very filling. Good if you want to go a little out of your comfort zone without everything being raw.

ガッツリ!えびすこ
@cassandral
A cheap and cheerful ramen place serving Toyama's specialty black ramen. I didn't find it to have overwhelming flavours, but a good rich taste and tender meat.

Uohiro Maroot (鮮魚魚廣・富山湾食堂マルート店 )
@cassandral
A simple canteen-style restaurant where you make your order at a vending machine and then pick up from the counter. I had a shiro-ebi tempura bowl, but had regrets when I saw other customers' sushi plates. I would recommend sushi over tempura here.
