Discover another PARIS through the "passages" : a hidden gem

📍Paris is a city full of surprises and little secrets. The passages were built for the Bourgeois in the 18th & 19th century who wanted to shop with comfort. Crossing through the buildings, those indoor streets are a marvel of architecture & the perfect stroll on a rainy or cold day. 🏛️ They are also a very fun way to visit Paris and la Rive Droite (the right bank). You will find old book stores, shops of curiosities, high fashion and so much more. Pay attention to the little details... 🥐 Here you will find the most famous passages but also the lesser known. The ones I've find randomly, almost stumbled upon and love to go back to regularly. 🚶The most famous can be very busy on weekends and holidays, but most will be quieter & away from the crowd. Enjoy!

Galerie Véro-Dodat
@juliainbali
Beautiful example of the architecture of those galeries in a chic neighbourhood : glass roof (verrière), wrought iron & wood store fronts.

Passage des Deux-Pavillons
@juliainbali
One of my favourite, I stumbled on it one day! Cross the entrance and end up in a tiny little street that seem taken out of a postcard in a rural village. Very charming!

Passage des Panoramas
@juliainbali
One of the oldest passage of Pairs, built in 1799! Very authentic, well decorated, it's a trip back in time. It can get very busy on week-end or holidays.

The "très chic" galerie Vivienne is always a wonderful place, not as busy as others but with plenty of old shops & bookstores.

One of the most quiet passage that doesn't really bring in a crowd. It is still a charming place and around Christmas the decorations give him back all his splendor!

Passage Jouffroy
@juliainbali
Very first passage to be heated & with this kind of architecture : it was a revolution at the time!

Passage de l'Ancre
@juliainbali
Careful, it's not always open as people live there. It's very hidden, you need to push the door to enter, there are a few stores inside with their old signs. Even an umbrella repair shop that seem frozen in time. You will be the only tourist there, that's for sure!

Bonus

Cour du Commerce Saint-André
@juliainbali
Can be very touristy, but not to miss! This semi-covered little street was once the place-to-be for philosophers & revolutionaries, who all sat at the Procope, a parisian institution.

🇫🇷 I hope you enjoyed discovering Paris through its passages.

🥐 If you need a specific itinerary feel free to check my profile for more details & informations. I also do personalised maps of suggestions depending of your trip.

Or the French countryside :

Let's head into the heart of France : it's countryside! 📍I'm creating this itinerary for my mom and I during our annual holiday. This year we picked a region we both wanted to visit for a long time : La Dordogne, or also known as Le Périgord. 🤷‍♀️ Who is this itinerary for? 🚶‍♀️‍➡️My mother is getting older & cannot walk for very long so the trip is planned on a slower pace with ample time to rest in between activities. And discovering the french countryside is not a race and it's even better to enjoy with leisure! 🏛️ If you find yourself with extra time, I'm including some extra activities you can add to your day. What you will find : 🏘️ Historical villages & old houses 🏰 Beautiful castles 🏫 Museums & cultural visits 🥖 Food : local specialties & best addresses. ⏰ Times of visits & schedules 🕣 How long is this itinerary for? It is designed to be 6 to 7 days, but it's easy to spend more or less time. The region is wonderful for hikes, but I will not be able to test them as well as other sportive activities. The theme of this trip is all about culture & accommodating an older person. Until I test it, this itinerary is free. After my trip, I'll vet or not the different adresses, places to visit & where we stayed. It will then become a paid guide so if you're an adventurer grab it now & test it for yourself! I will also update after the accessibility, GF & vegetarian options. Let's go explore!
