If you are visiting Puerto Rico for the first time, you're probably going to be staying in the San Juan area and that is a wonderful choice. There is so much to do around San Juan.
If you are flying into Puerto Rico you will be landing at Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU)

The small airport is very well maintained. There are usually no long wait lines for traveling. Customer service is great, and employees are extremely helpful. TSA workers are friendly. Signs are in both Spanish and English. Lots of options for food and drinks.

The airport is a short drive to most of the hotels. Hotels usually tend to be in a few major areas. Old San Juan, Condado or Isla Verde. I will provide three options of hotels for each area. One budget hotel, One Mid-Range and one luxury option.
Old San Juan Hotel Options
If you are planning to stay in Old San Juan, be prepared to spend more for your hotel then any other areas.
For a budget option hotel within Old San Juan check out Casa of Essence.
