Bryson City, Great Smoky Mountains w/ Littles
Where to Stay
1. An Airbnb/Vrbo/etc - there are a lot of rental homes being built alongside the mountains. You can get a fantastic view of the sunsrise, sunset, and enjoy the comfort of a home for a reasonable price.
2. Camp! We saw several spots where families had campers, with an easy walk into town. While we aren't avid campers, if you have older kids or are traveling as a couple it might be the perfect experience.
3. If you want the hotel/inn experience you can head for a nice stay at the Calhoun House
Things to Do
1. Hike Smoky Mountain National Park - with in 10 minutes of the city center you have 3-4 easy trails for young kids including three waterfalls . You can go to the link below or download the All Trails app for easy information on trail distance, ease, and views!
2. Great Smoky Mountain Railroad - there is so much to see from the stationary trains you can hop aboard, to a ride along the countryside. During the Christmas season it serves as a Polar Express experience, but you'll need to book your tickets early!
3. Enjoy the small town charm - We spent two hours just walking around the town. The little shops are quintessential small town. The decor and the river keep the views as a focal point. You can easily get lost in the charm and it's fun for everyone.
Places to Eat
There is an Ingles for grocery shopping and several fast food chains, but if you want to enjoy the local grub here are a few options:
1. Enjoy a highly rated, casual bakery spot for breakfast.
2. For lunch head to Everett Street Diner - for local sandwiches (or a late breakfast)
3. Want something on the river and easy for families? The Barb-B-Que Wagon has just that
4. To top off your day with an assortment of yummy desserts enjoy the Chocolate Shoppe.
