This is your sign to visit Cape Town in 2024

Yours, Queerly
The locals know that the Southern most areas of Cape Town are known as the Deep South, separated by the endearingly dubbed "lentil curtain". In the deep South, you will find some of the kindest and most open-hearted people nestled between the oceans and the mountains. Making this one of the most warm and welcoming spaces for the queer community.

But first, coffee.

This is our home. We've been living in the 'Berg for the past year sharing a little flatlet in the village, which is a two-minute walk from the beachfront. One of our all-time favourite coffee spots which is just a 5-minute walk from our home is called Hans and Lloyd - it has the BEST vegan iced coffees (arguably in the whole of Cape Town) and the cosiest environment to work at if you're looking for an idyllic setting to settle into the couch, next to the fire with a great coffee.

Next, time for a surf🏄🏻‍♀️

Muizenberg is one of the best places for a surfer of any level to catch their first wave. There are so many places along the beachfront that offer board and wetsuit rentals, surf lessons as well as surf camps (which allow you to tackle the waves in a group instead of a one-on-one lesson!). All of the spots along the beachfront are AMAZING. But personally, we think you should head on over to Surf Shack or the iconic Lifestyle Surf Shop to gear up. This way you're able to support a local, independent business rather than a chain (and bonus: they both cushion Hans and Lloyd...it's almost like a sign?)So, once you've got your gear - it's time to hit the waves!

You must be ravished - it's time for lunch!

After working up an appetite, we have several suggestions for the amazing things you could go to for lunch
