Visiting Paris with Kids: A Family Travel Guide

Paris is one of the most magical places to visit, with some of the most iconic landmarks in the world. As beautiful as it is, it can also be very overwhelming to travel there for your first time, especially if you’re traveling with kids. It can be intimidating to think about taking a long flight, navigating public transportation, and touring places like the Louvre and Sacre Coeur with kids in tow. We know all about it, as our family recently traveled to Paris for 3 weeks. See how we made the best of visiting Paris with our kids! Here is what you can expect in this travel guide: - Flying tips and tricks and how to beat jet lag when traveling with your kids - Tips for arriving to CDG airport, one of the biggest in the world - Transportation, what you really need to know - The best things to do as a family with an interactive map - Hotel recommendations as well as the top Arrondissements for families - Photos, Videos, and more!

Getting to Paris

Traveling to Paris with young kids can be a fun but can also be tough to navigate, especially all the way from he USA. Here are a few ways to make the trip as smooth as possible for the kids:

- prep for the flight with snacks, games they haven't played before, and comforts from home. This can be a long flight for little ones so make sure to come with reinforcements. I even pack a few special treats just in case of an emergency or to divert a melt down.

- Most flights from the USA are going to be red-eye flights so its going to be important to get your kids as much sleep as possible. I like to bring a little sound machine, blanket and pillow (sometimes you can get these on your flight) and some melatonin to help them doze off.

- Another hack to fight the jet lag for your littles (and you) is to acclimate to your new time zone as soon as you get to the airport. Try your hardest to sleep and eat according to your new time zone. It's proven to cut down on the jet lag the most.
