Spend a weekend exploring Boston, Massachusetts. A packing list and some outfit ideas.

Day 1: Arrival & Freedom Trail

✈️ Morning Arrival: Check-in to your accommodation (choose one in a convenient location like Back Bay or Downtown or near a metro stop).

🍳 Early Breakfast: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Mike & Patty's, known for their delicious breakfast sandwiches.

🇺🇸 Morning: Start your Boston adventure with a self-guided tour of the Freedom Trail. Highlights include the Massachusetts State House and Granary Burying Ground. Head to GetYourGuide and download a ‘walk with me’ audio guide.

🧺 Lunch: Have a picnic lunch at the Boston Common or Public Garden. You can pick up sandwiches or a packed lunch from a nearby deli like Sam LaGrassa's.

⛪️ Afternoon: Continue your Freedom Trail journey with stops at the Old North Church and Paul Revere's House.

🦪 Dinner: Head to the North End for dinner at Neptune Oyster for fresh seafood or try Mamma Maria for Italian cuisine.

Day 2: Explore & Discover

☕️ Breakfast: Start your day with a delicious breakfast at a local café.

📸 Morning: Visit Beacon Hill and explore its charming streets and historic architecture. Don't miss Acorn Street, one of the most photographed streets in the city.

🍕 Lunch: Try Figs for gourmet pizza or Tatte Bakery & Café for Middle Eastern-inspired dishes.

🎨 Afternoon: Explore the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, known for its unique collection and beautiful courtyard.

🦐 Dinner: Head to Union Oyster House for classic New England seafood or Giacomo's Ristorante for Italian favorites.

Souvenirs: Look for historical-themed souvenirs such as replicas of the USS Constitution or Revolutionary War books.

Day 3: Harvard & Cambridge Exploration

🥯 Breakfast: Have breakfast at Bagelsaurus, known for its delicious bagels.

🦕 Morning: Visit the Harvard Museum of Natural History, which houses fascinating exhibits including the famous Glass Flowers and dinosaur fossils that can't be missed. 

🌾 Lunch: Enjoy lunch at Harvest, a farm-to-table restaurant in Cambridge.

📚 Afternoon: Explore the vibrant neighborhoods of Cambridge, including Harvard Square, and consider a visit to the MIT campus.

🍝 Dinner: Savor Italian cuisine at Pammy's or head to The Sinclair for American fare and live music.

Souvenirs: Look for locally crafted jewelry or artisanal chocolates in Harvard Square.

Day 4: Whale Watching and Seafood Dinner

🥞 Breakfast: Have a quick breakfast at your accommodation or a nearby café.

🐳 Whale Watching: Spend your morning on an exciting whale watching tour from Long Wharf. Check out GetYourGuide to find a tour. Keep in mind, that you will have to travel out for a few hours before you have the chance to spot whales. Buy some medicine & sunscreen.

🦞 Lunch: Head to James Hook & Co. for a lobster roll or try Union Oyster House for clam chowder.

🧘🏼‍♀️ Afternoon: Rest or explore the waterfront area before your food tour.

Souvenirs: Consider buying local seafood spices or sauces, or a keepsake from the whale watching tour.

Outfits for a Female Traveler:

Day 1: Comfortable jeans, a casual blouse, sneakers, and a light jacket for layering.

Day 2: A sundress or skirt, comfortable walking sandals, and a sun hat for sun protection.

Day 3: Jeans or shorts, a T-shirt, comfortable walking shoes, and a lightweight cardigan for cooler evenings.

Day 4: Casual outfit with layers, as it can be chilly on the water. Don't forget sunglasses and sunscreen.  

PACKING LIST: 

Clothing:

- Enough underwear & socks for the duration of your trip. Plus 10 pairs because that is what we do.

- One or two pairs of comfortable walking shoes.

- Casual day outfits for each day

- One fancy outfit because you deserve it

- Sleepwear & loungewear - my airport outfit is leggings and an oversized sweatshirt

- Lightweight rain jacket or umbrella - Boston weather can be unpredictable.  

Toiletries:

- Travel-sized shampoo, conditioner, and body wash (you can never completely trust a hotel). 

- Toothbrush, toothpaste, and dental floss.

- Deodorant.

- Hairbrush or comb.

- Makeup and makeup remover.

- Any prescription medications you need & personal hygiene items.  

Electronics:

- Smartphone and charger.

- Portable charger or power bank.

- Earphones or headphones.

- Camera and charger 

Miscellaneous:

- Reusable water bottle (because we love protecting Mother Earth).

- Small backpack or tote bag for daily outings.

- Sunglasses and sunscreen for sun protection.

- Any specific items you need for your planned activities (e.g., hiking gear, swimsuit, etc.).
