Atlanta Neighborhood Guide- Entertainment and dining for all budgets
Know before you go
Atlanta is a vibrant, eclectic city with many neighborhoods to explore. While Atlanta may be a city that gets passed over as a flight hub or landlocked city, there is a lot to see and do in the empire capital of the South!
Summers are hot and winters are mild, so there is really no bad time to visit Atlanta. Hartsfield-Jackson is the main airport, and it's a busy one so be prepared for crowds! While there are a number of walkable neighborhoods and some public transport options, your best bet is to rent a car if you want to see all Atlanta has to offer. All you need in Atlanta is a sedan or smaller SUV, the streets and parking spots of Atlanta are often narrow. I would recommend staying somewhere central like Midtown or downtown for the best walkability and transportation options.
Also a few vocab words you will need to fit in- ITP means Inside the Perimeter, the perimeter being I-285 that is an interstate that encircles the city. OTP is Outside the Perimeter and natives of both areas feud on which is better. As an ITP girlie most of my recommendations are in the city! Finally, don't call our city Hotlanta! That's the one thing ITP and OTP people agree on 😂
Old 4th Ward
Old 4th Ward is my favorite neighborhood and arguably one of the most vibrant in Atlanta! Come here to live like a local and see the beautiful parks, eat at the local restaurants, and walk the beltline for all of the best entertainment!
