Tarifa is known as the City of Wind or "Ciudad del Viento". Due to its strategic location between two seas, there are wind conditions favourable to addicts to adrenaline. It is the most desirable destinations in Europe for those practising Windsurf, Kitesurf or, today, Wind foil.

With the evolution of the work styles, homeworking and nomad working has became the normal. For that reason, Tarifa is the perfect place to spend time in the low season to work from home. Go to the beach after work or having lunch in a weekday in front of the sea is the dream od many, and you do not need to go as far as to Bali.

How to arrive to Tarifa

By train

The closest city where trains arrive is Algeciras, which is 18 Km away from Tarifa. There are buses very often between both cities. A taxi from Algeciras to Tarifa is about 35 €.

By plane

There are a few airports that are relatively close to Tarifa: Malaga, Sevilla and, Jerez. If you come from abroad, the easiest way is to one of those airports. The second part, how to get from each of these airports to Tarifa, can be tricky. I hope this guide helps you to relief your planning load!

Rent a car

This is the most flexible option, as well as the most expensive. In each of the three airports there are many rental car companies.

Public transportation

If you prefer to use public transportation, I recommend you then to fly to Malaga. There are more buses communicating Tarifa with it than with the other cities. Depending on your schedule, you might need to go first to Algeciras, an industrial city close to Tarifa.

Hotels

Nowadays, there are many many options for staying in Tarifa. Here are listed some of them. If you prefer not to drive a lot, my recommendation is to stay in the city center. Once you are there, you will not need to drive to enjoy it!

Camping

Tarifa offers a wide range of options to those who love staying at open spaces surrounded by nature.

If you go with your wheeled home, keep in mind that you can park wherever you want (respecting some mimimal rules, of course), but you cannot spend the night at any place. There are specific areas dedicated to park wheeled homes, which provide a set of facilities that make your stay comfortable.
