📖Genova’s History

Genova is an ancient port city that still today is one of Italy's largest connections to maritime trade and busiest ports.

It's location meant during the Middle Ages and Renaissance it was a thriving republic who often competed with that of Venice for control of Trade and the Seas. This powerful republic stood strong over 700 years, from the 11th-18th century. Nicknamed La Superba, the proud one.

Winding through it's historic center you'll find yourself lost in little alleyways known as caruggi, opening up to impressive churches and monuments that have earned the city a place on the UNESCO World Heritage List.

👌Getting ready for your trip

I highly recommend downloading offline google maps for the city so you don’t get turned around!
