In an area of only 1,000 km2, there are black cliffs like Iceland, white beaches with blue water like Hawaii, and ancient forests like Japan.
Hallasan Volcano
An extinct volcano in the centre of the island, with the highest peak in South Korea. If you're up for a trek, make a full day of it.
Seogwipo Forest of Healing
A forest and reserve in the southern part of the island, with equipped paths and resting areas where you can catch some zen.
Cape Seopjikoji
A coastal walking area in the east near Seongsan town along the volcanic coastline. The lighthouse is a stamping ground for the Jeju Olle Trail, a 437km trekking route to all the island's attractions.
Cape Oedolgae
A picturesque spot near the town of Seogwipo, overlooking small islands. Nearby is a small waterfall called Sojeongbang, which you can get up close to.
Jusangjeollidae Basalt Rocks
One of the most impressive places I caught in stormy weather. The downpour, heavy grey sky and raging sea made my experience even more unforgettable.
I suggest going down to the beach on the right side of the exit and admiring the waves up close.
Song-Agsan Nature Reserve
Another incredible spot is the route along the cliffs at Songaksan Viewpoint., the southernmost point of the island.
I arrived at the headland early in the morning and spent two hours alone with the wind, walking along the paths along the shore. The views from this particular area reminded me of Iceland.
Hyeopjae Beach
White sand against the clear blue water and volcanic rocks. This beach is one of Jeju's main attraction points and attractions. It is the reason why the island is called โKorea's Hawaiiโ.
Like most days of my trip, the sky was overcast on this day, but to me, this contrast made the beach even more beautiful.
Seongsan Canola Flower Field
The very rapeseed fields that inspired my trip. The sun sets beautifully against the backdrop of the mountain, illuminating the golden yellow scatterings of flowers.
There aren't many rapeseed fields on Jeju, but there are sakura trees all over the island just around every corner. And it's a sight to behold.
