FREE: Canggu Cafes for all budgets

Issy Tucker
There is an overwhelming number of cafes in Canggu, and most of them are very aesthetically pleasing and delicious. But they do all range in price, I have attached a list of my favourite locations with how much I spent at each.

KYND Community, Canggu

You have probably heard of this place before, I feel like it was one of the first "instagrammable" cafes to pop up in Bali, and for great reason! Not only do they have a fantastic and broad menu, but it is also a very pretty cafe with many photo opportunities.

I got the strawberry pancakes and an iced latte and paid 170k (or roughly $17 aud), this was the most expensive breakfast I had in Bali overall by quite a bit. I wouldn't return for this reason, but I would still recommend (especially if you are not travelling on a budget).

Doppio Cafe, Canggu

This cafe is not too far away from KYND, a little further up the road (away from the beach). It is much cheaper, with almost everything on the menu priced at 65k. I had the 'big breakfast' (as pictured below) - perfect if you are REALLY hungry. It was extremely affordable and filling, costing only $6 aud for eggs, potatoes, bacon, toast, mushrooms, avocado and more! They also have plenty of smoothies, juices, coffees and protein treats.

There is some nice street facing outdoor seats, and also plenty of seats inside. They also have plenty of novels here, like a private library - I don't know how this works, but definitely invited me into the cafe as I am a book lover. The only downside to this place in my opinion, was the mismatched music to the vibe of the cafe, the playlist was quite loud and included house/EDM music.

Gigi Susu, Canggu

This cafe is on the Main Street in Canggu, about 800m up from the beach. They open just after 7am, so that is probably the best time to go in for the freshly baked goods at the takeaway window, otherwise there is usually plenty of seats in the dining section.

The takeaway coffee/pastry window is always VERY BUSY! But the restaurant itself always had seats. This was priced in the midrange, between KYND and Doppio.

I don't know why there is a big hype around this place, there are always people taking photos outside the sign to their takeaway window. Someone mentioned it could be because the actor who played Jeremiah Fisher (in The Summer I Turned Pretty) was photographed outside.

Don't get me wrong, it is a very pretty place and I would definitely eat here again! I got a dragonfruit smoothie bowl and coconut milk iced latte, which cost 120k (plus tax/government charges), roughly $12aud.

Rabbithole Bakery Project Cafe, Seminyak/Canggu

Just a short grab or gojek ride away from the centre of Canggu is this cute little cafe called Rabbithole Bakery Project. They have the freshest baked goods and also a divine breakfast menu. But the pièce de résistance, if you will, was the fish tank in the ceiling as you enter!

For some fancy looking French toast and a watermelon juice, I paid 120k (including taxes), which is just over $10AUD. It had a very relaxing vibe, with a couple people reading or working from their laptops - less crowded and rowdy compared with the above options.

Warung Middle

Last but not least, this beachfront restaurant/cafe. This was such a relaxing spot to eat breakfast and watch the morning surfers and read my book. The menu offered a good range of food and several juices and smoothies. I paid only 100k total for my food (two pieces of toast, two eggs, avocado and bacon) and smoothie, totally $9.60 aud.

The only downside to this cafe (if I had to be picky) was that the toast was quite hard to cut, whether it was the poor knives or hard toast, I ended up eating with my hands hahah!

This was unable to be added to the map, but is easily found by typing in this name to Google Maps - it is located at the end of the Main Street in Canggu, to the right as you look at the beach.

Enjoy your stay in Bali!
