A bit of context
Located in the Skåne region of southern Sweden, Malmö has a population of around 350000 people and one of the youngest populations in Northern Europe.
As a harbour city in the Northern Sea and founded during the Danish reign of the swedish lands during the 13th Century, Malmö had developed throughout time tied to Copenhagen - in a common geographic area defined as Öresund/Øresund due to the name of the strait separating both urban areas.
After passing for a sharp decline due to the transfer of sovereignty from Denmark to Sweden by the Treaty of Roslikde, Malmö resurfaced in the 19th Century as a transportation and industrial hub.
