What should you know before doing the road trip:

1. As an island with many cities (approx. 50 cities!), Java offers a diverse and vibrant urban landscape. Each city on Java has its own unique characteristics, culture, and attractions, making the island a rich tapestry of experiences. Traveling through Java, you'll encounter bustling metropolises, historic towns, artistic hubs, and charming coastal areas, all contributing to the island's dynamic and multifaceted nature.

2. Well-connected by trains and highways, refer to online travel agents like Traveloka or Tiket.com to book your tickets, use specifically https://booking.kai.id/ for train tickets. Install Grab or Gojek for short trips around the city center.

3. Cultural Sensitivity: Respect local customs and traditions. Be mindful of dress codes, especially when visiting temples and religious sites.

4. Currency and Payment Methods: Carry enough Indonesian Rupiah (IDR) in cash, as some places may not accept credit cards. ATMs are widely available in cities.

5. Language: While English is spoken in tourist areas, learning some basic Indonesian phrases can be helpful, especially in more remote locations.
