Verona: It's more than just star-crossed lovers
William Shakespeare's Romeo & Juliet remains Verona's primary claim to fame, but the city is more than warring families and tragic love. Known as Piccola Roma (Little Rome), the Veneto's second-largest city offers historical riches, culinary delights, and world-class wine. Even better? Its gorgeous year-round weather makes al fresco dining possible nearly any day. Pour some wine and start planning where to dine during your Verona travels!

Ristorante Arche
@valeriequintanilla
Ristorante Arche's historic building dates back to 1420, changing management several times. I chuckle as it's site notes its “new” ownership that dates to October 8, 1879. Five generations of the Gioco family have run the restaurant.

Ristorante Scapin 1935

The food and wine were divine, but what stole my heart was the salted butter for the bread — even the Italians I was dining with were fighting for it. Oh, and, the cellar has an ancient Roman wall.
