A Foodie's Guide to Bordeaux
Bordeaux’s must try dishes
Take advantage of the chance to sample as much cuisine as you can while in the city. Nonetheless, there are certain traditional Bordeaux dishes that you simply must not miss. Here are a few examples:
Magret de Canard
Duck is a staple of French cooking and is undoubtedly a part of Bordeaux's cuisine. A slow cook duck leg then braised. Often served with potatoes, an absolute delight.
Entrecote bordelaise
What could be more delectable and French-traditioned than meat cooked in wine? In these places, entrecôte is a highly popular steak and bordelaise sauce is another exquisite treat.
Canelé
Canelés are dark, very scented, and have a crisp, caramelised top with a wonderfully soft, moist within. They are served warm and spiced with rum and vanilla. You can't leave Bordeaux without trying these.
Crêpes
A benchmark of French cuisine, crêpes are popular in Bordeaux and throughout the country. Savoury varieties exist as well if you aren't a sweet person.
Cap Ferret oysters
Oysters from Cap Ferret are served by the plate and typically come with bread and butter. Savour them while adding a squeeze of lemon.
Pauillac lamb à la Persillade
A roast lamb for dinner. For a few minutes, lamb chops are grilled in order to retain their juices. To improve the flavour, chopped parsley is added after they are served. A meat eater's delight.
Steak tartare
A tasty dish with raw meat added for those who enjoy fine dining. The tartare is quite delicious even though the dish's primary ingredient is raw, gritty beef.

Canelé: Bordeaux's delight
Here are a few La Toque Cuivrée establishments throughout the city. Another well-known brand is Baillardran. Still, I think it's not quite as good and it's not always fresh. In addition, the costs have increased and the service has consistently been unwelcoming. Despite this, give them both a try!
