Explore the Historic City of Gyeongju
@beverlyalviz
Why Visit: Known as the “museum without walls,” Gyeongju was the capital of the ancient Silla Kingdom for almost a thousand years. The city is filled with UNESCO World Heritage sites, ancient tombs, temples, and palaces. Some highlights include Bulguksa Temple, Seokguram Grotto, and the Daereungwon Tomb Complex.
Tip: Rent a bike to explore the city, as many of the historical sites are close together. Also, visit the Anapji Pond at night when it’s beautifully lit up.
