A Weekend in Jasper
Exploring the Outdoors
Big Bluff Goat Trail
My favorite trail near Jasper! It’s a 3 mile out and back moderate trail that leads to a beautiful bluff outlook. Start at the Centerpoint trailhead and when you reach the fork in the path go right! Just a warning on the way back there is a steep portion but it gives such a great little work out.
Lost Valley Trail
A great quick and easy 2 1/2 mile hike along a river bed. This hike leads to a natural overhang, Cobb Cave and then past that another cave that you can enter!
Arkansas Grand Canyon
A very beautiful overlook with a small gift shop! There is a wooden platform that gets you up even higher for some great views.
Elk watching
Possibly my favorite part of Jasper was watching the elk! We went around dusk and parked on the shoulder of Highway 43. A heard of elk came out on the private land that runs along Highway 43 south from Ponca, AR. It was such a nice and relaxing way to end the day while the sun was setting! :))
Downtown Jasper
Downtown Jasper is very small but equally adorbale! We had lunch at The Ozark Cafe which has been open since 1909! The staff was so sweet and the food was great. Spend some time exploring the antique and gift shops around town!
