The most important is that we have many water fountain at the airport so feel free to fill up your bottle!!!

So from the aiport there are more options - the best one is to "100E" bus. You can buy ticket from the ticket machines it will cost 1500HUF which is about 4 EUR oneway. It takes you off in 35 minutes in the city centre.

From the city centre you can use metro/buses/trams to get where you want. 1 single ticket costs less than 1 EUR (valid for 90min and you only can change between metro lines) but if you planning to visit the whole city you can buy 24H (6 EUR) or 72H (14EUR) tickets. I would recommend that because it is more convenient and there are some lines that worth a visit.

‌You can find maps and at every station in Budapest or you can download them from the BKK website. If you travelling in the night you can find every information there too.

If you arrive to ...

Train stations then basically you are in the city centre so you are free to go. :)

There is only one company who runs the whole public transport so it is very easy.

ACCOMODATION

You can find many cheap option on Booking and AirBnB as well. I would recommend Booking. There you will find great option in the 1-2-5-6-7th district. These are close to the centre and you do not need to use public transport as much.

PEST - Day 1

You can change these days depending on your preferences and accomodation.

I am going to start with Pest.

Here is a must see is the Heroes Square and the City Park near to it.

Heroes' Square

It is completely free and you can enjoy it anytime. The main street that goes directly to the square called AndrĂĄssy street, is famous and part of the heritage as well. This is the outermost.

How do you go there?

The oldest metro line goes there this is the 1st line or if you reach Oktogon then you can walk by there on the AndrĂĄssy street but it takes around 20min.

In the city park you can visit the Vajdahunyad Castle and if you interested in agriculture then you should go inside. :)

There is a Hotair Ballon sight there but I do not recommend going up with that because It is quite expensive and you can get a better sight from Buda for free.

St. Stephen's Basilica

In the centre you can visit the St. Stephen's basilica. This is near DeĂĄk square which is a great junction you can reach everywhere from here.

DeĂĄk square is famous for the Budapest Eye and it is a meeting point for the youth in the evening.

And the most important sight is the Parliament on the Danube. Near the Parliament you can see the "Shoes" which is a memory for the jewish.

I would definitely recommend to take a walk at the river because it is really nice. If you feeling tired then you can do that sightseeing with the tram 47.

If you would like to add museums I have 3 recommendations:

- The Hungarian National Museum

‌- House of Terror - Jewish memory

- Museum of Fine arts

- Go inside the Parliament (Book in advance!)

đŸ’„Tickets costs around 5-6EUR but if you are EU nation and under 25 you get discount in every museum!!

đŸ’„Museum are free on the third Saturday of the month

You can reach it with the Metro line 4 or trams, buses from DeĂĄk Square it takes around 15 min.

And what to see there? A lot of amazing architecture and sights. From climbing up to the Gellert Hill you will have an amazing view.

It is really touristy but worth to visit.

You can spend many hours there and there ara amazing restaurants everywhere but they tend to be a bit expensive because of the fancy atmosphere but the quality of there food is excellent as well.

As soon as you reached Buda you can go everywhere on foot.

At the end of the day we are heading back to Pest. The nightlife is really colorful and you do not want to miss it.

You have again 3 option

💃 Szimpla Kert in Kazinczy street 4

This is the most famous ruin bar and It is free to go in.

💃Instant Fogas in Akácfa street

The entry is free so you don't want to ge there late night because there will be a line. Several rooms with different musics and many bars.

They have unlimited drink packages depending when you arrive. It costs 14-19 EUR and you can drink unlimited until 3am. It has 7 rooms with different music.

Day 3

As hopefully you enjoyed the night out I would recommend something chill.

You should visit one of our thermal baths, again you have options.

Both of them is around 20 EUR for a day but both beautiful and really relaxing.

And If you have still time you can visit the Margaret Island or you can go shopping to the VĂĄci street or if you want a more authentic feeling visit the Great Market Hall.

FOOD

We have soo many restaurants in the center. Italian, american, hungarian, chinese etc. So you will absolutely find something. You will pay around 20-40 EUR per meals for 2 person obviously you can find cheaper restaurants as well.

The McDonalds at Nyugati train station is one of the most beautiful ones in the world so for a cheap meal you can go there. :)

If you like coffe then visit Frei Cafe, you can find them at many locations they have very interesting coffes from around the world and the aesthetic is really nice.
