Oaxaca City, nestled in the southern region of Mexico, is a captivating destination known for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant festivals, and stunning colonial architecture. The city’s historic center is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, celebrated for its beautifully preserved buildings, bustling markets, and lively plazas.

Oaxaca City is renowned for its vibrant cultural scene, with numerous museums, art galleries, and traditional markets showcasing the region’s artistic and culinary traditions. The city is also famous for its local cuisine, including iconic dishes such as mole, tlayudas, and mezcal. Wandering through the city, you'll encounter colorful murals, ornate churches like the Templo de Santo Domingo, and the bustling Andador Turístico.

However, for your safety, please avoid walking around the city at night. There has been an increase in petty thefts, so it's advisable to use a ride-service like Didi or a taxi to get home safely after dark. Despite these concerns, Oaxaca City is generally safe and welcoming during the day, offering a secure environment to explore its many attractions and cultural sites. Enjoy the city's charm and vibrancy, and take the necessary precautions to ensure a pleasant and safe visit.
