What a unique country!
Jordan is a wonderful place, filled with a lot of amazing things to see, including one the seven wonders ✨
In this guide you will find a complete itinerary, with things to do and tips, restaurants and hotels.
All pictures are mine and I only tagged hotels I really liked.
If you have any questions, please let me know, I will be happy to help!
🇯🇴 Jordan is the perfect place if you want to enjoy a 10 days roadtrip between visits, beach and nature!
✅ To prepare before the trip :
- Rent a car (we used Sixt and it was fine)
- Book hotels
- Check the weather, to find the best time to go. In my opinion from March to June before it gets too hot.
💰 Regarding the budget:
It remains an expensive trip, even if it depends on the hotels and restaurants chosen of course. I would recommend the Jordan pass if you do a lot but if it’s just for Petra, compare.
It costs for 2 people around 4000€ in total with the car rental, hotels, airplane tickets and expenses there.
Details of the road trip:
- 1 night at the Dead Sea to enjoy swimming in this super-salty water and if you go early, do the Wadi Mujib! We couldn’t do it because it was too late (10am).
This is really fun to swim in that lake (well float because you cannot actually swim due to the salt)!
And yes event though it's called Dead sea it's actually a lake and there is no fish or whatever inside due to salt concentration.
Be careful to not put your head underwater.

On the road between the Dead Sea and Petra you can stop to see the Dana reserve. Make sure to arrive early in the morning. It will take you between 2 and 5 hours to do a tour or just visit and stop by car.
Hikes on the main site + little Petra + Petra by night (the night is not included in the Jordan pass or Petra pass, quite expensive and ultra touristic, I do not necessarily recommend).
Be sure to have good shoes, a hat and sunscreen because you will quickly walk between 10 and 20km per day. There are restaurants on site and bathrooms.
The rooftop is super nice to have a drink and enjoy the sunset.
The rooms are ok. Breakfast is good.

- 1 night in the Wadi Rum desert to enjoy going for a half-day visit in the desert by car to see the famous sites, seeing a sunset and the stars at your tent or in a tour.
A lot of restaurants with good food, prices are ok. The hotel organizes dives if needed, which I highly recommend, the Red Sea being The Mecca for divers.
The city of Aqaba does not have much interest in itself.
