A day at Nørrebro, Copenhagen
Nørrebro is a hip, urban and multicultural neighborhood that is especially popular with young Copenhageners. Kebab places and delicious cafes are located side by side. in addition, there are many local creative shops hiding in the many small side streets, so keep your eyes open and look around, this is where you will find the real gems.
Furthermore, there are several green areas and squares in Nørrebro which are clearly also worth a visit, so follow the guide where I guide you to the best cafes, eateries and activities and attractions that Nørrebro has.
How does this guide work?
The guide is designed so that you can take it chronologically from start to finish and then the route should roughly fit geographically, although depending on how many detours it takes. However, you can also simply use the route as inspiration to pick the things you want to visit yourself. It is entirely up to you.
Weather in Nørrebro, Copenhagen
Step by step day
If you want the ideal day in Nørrebro, take the S-train to Nørrebro station and go up to the Breakfast place. Here you will experience a multicultural area with speed.
Breakfast
Enjoy your breakfast at Flere Fugle and take your time to feel the surroundings. If there are several of you on the trip, I would definitely recommend that you order several different things and share so you can taste several different things from their baked goods and dishes.
Flere Fugle
@freja
Flere Fugle is one of the newer bakeries and is located in the NordVest district of Copenhagen.
The bakery is in the backyard and community called the demokratigarage and the hall the bakery and bar is in is an old car workshop.
The surroundings create some mega cool, raw and industrial settings for the bakery. The ceiling is very high and the lights are so beautiful.
Their baked goods are super delicious and clearly follow Copenhagen's high standard. In addition, they also have some mega delicious breakfast and lunch dishes that you should try.
Later in the day, they open up their bar, where they have a good selection of natural wine and if you are not quite keen on it yourself, they have really nice and skilled bartenders who are happy to help and advise.
This place is perfect in summer where there is plenty of seating both inside and outside. If you are in or around Nordvest or Nørrebro, check it out.

Activity
When you have finished eating breakfast, move down Nørrebrogade and explore Superkilen Park.
Superkilen park
@freja
Superkilen is Nørrebro's urban space, located in the Mimersgade district. The park is divided into three main areas, each representing a specific theme: The Red Square denotes modern urban life, The Black Square is a more classic square, with space for meeting, playing and The Green Park provides space for picnics, sports and walks with those we have driven.
Superkilen is fun for all age groups, as there is room to run and play with the various things that have been set up.
The Red Square is often used by many to skate, hang out on the swings or visit Nørrebrohallen, where warehouse sales are often held.
The black square is definitely worth a visit, it is a completely unique sight that unfolds with the white lines running over the black asphalt. Here you can play a game of chess, play on the big octopus or climb the high hill and get a great view of the area.
The green park is a place where there is room to train and use the many facilities that have been set up there. There are also backetball courts that are often in use, but there is therefore room for them to just go for a walk and experience the good. weather.
All in all, it's a cozy place that's definitely worth a visit, especially on a sunny day!
If you want to see a video from Superkilen, follow my links
Details
The super wedge consists of three parts, all three of which are explained in more detail if you click on the article above.
Nørrebrohallen - On the red square
Stock sales are often held in Nørrebrohallen, where you can make a good deal with various Danish brands. I've been to many of their warehouse sales and it's often big bags that you haul away with when you're done.
Stock sales are often announced here:
Lunch
For lunch, you can choose to visit Pizzeria Juli, which makes some killer pizzas with alternative flavors that taste heavenly.
Nørrebro is the place in Copenhagen with the most kebab places, so if you don't feel like pizza, you can just explore along Nørrebrogade where there are a lot of options. You should expect to pay around DKK 40-60 for a durum roll with kebab.
If you want to upgrade this experience, you can also visit Gaza Grill, where you can get a rather delicious durrum roll with kebab, but also at a higher price.
Juli Pizzeria
@freja
The most delicious pizza and sides. The fillings on the pizzas are very special and not something you see anywhere else. There is pickled elderflower on the salami pizza and the potato pizza with blue cheese tastes absolutely fantastic. The dishes next to it are beets and roots with a delicious dip.
🏡The place is small but really cozy to sit there.
💸Price: Combo: 1 Pizza, 1 side and 1 Lemonade for DKK 195
Details
Gaza Grill Nørrebro
@freja
Gaza grill is located both in Kødbyen and in Nørrebro.
Here you can taste killer organic Arabic food. Here, you get a roll with kebab in a completely different class than what you've come up with. The meat is well seasoned and deliciously fried. So if you need to upgrade your kebab roll, Gaza is a good place to go.
However, the prices are also on the slightly higher end compared to a classic kebab and a roll with kebab costs DKK 89.
You can also make the whole experience more like a dining experience and choose their bowler and salads and sit in the shop and enjoy the food.

Green Oasis
The city contains many green areas and if you are in Nørrebro, the Assistens cemetery is definitely worth a visit. If you visit Copenhagen in the month of April, you can also experience the most beautiful pink cherry trees.
Assistens Kirkegård
@freja
A small cemetery, but which the premises use as a green oasis.
If you are here in the month of April, it is also a good place to see the beautiful pink cherry trees.

Shopping
There must also be time for shopping! Jægersborggade is definitely worth a visit. Here you have the opportunity to visit more local shops. In the article below, I have noted which shops I think you should definitely visit.
In addition, it can be fun to see how the store Wefood works to combat food waste and at the same time collect money for charity.
Details
Wefood
@freja
Wefood is an alternative supermarket.
Surplus goods that would not be sold at ordinary supermarkets are sold here. It can either be that the shelf life date has been exceeded, but the item is in good condition, or packaging that has received marks and/or bumps during transport and is therefore not being sold. It may also be that it is a seasonal item that is no longer current.
It is the organization "People's Church Aid" that is behind the concept and the shop is therefore run by volunteers and the profit goes directly to charity.
Often you can also get quite a few items at very good prices. So take a look and see if you can find something fun and support a good cause that way.

Snack or Coffee break
It's okay to take breaks too! Here are three suggestions for where you can take a short break and get some extra energy.
Benji has some of the city's best baked goods, but there are only two seats in the shop, so order togo and find a bench on Sankt Hansplads.
Darcy´s Kaffe has really good coffee and has the most beautiful surroundings. In addition, they have really good "spins" and sandwiches.
Bageriet Benji
@freja
Benji is a small bakery, but with huge taste! They make delicious cakes and bake delicious bread. It was clearly one of 2022's tastiest Fastelavnsboller.
This place has my warmest recommendation! buy some goodies and take them home or take them on a picnic in the community park.
If you want to see pictures of their delicious baked goods, check out my link 🎥

Darcy’s Kaffe
@freja
Darcy´s coffee is one of the nicest coffee bars in Copenhagen.
Here they serve super delicious coffee that even a barista would be happy to drink, but they also bake the most delicious baked goods. There spins are so delicious and always fresh and freshly baked, the flavors change often and always adapt to the season, but I'm just saying I've never been disappointed!
You can sit inside or outside and enjoy the sun, but you can expect there to be a scramble for seats because it has become a popular place among Copenhageners.
The interior is super cozy and it's like entering a local Copenhagener's living room filled with light wood and lovely lots of natural light.
If you are in the area, I would definitely recommend stopping by either for breakfast, lunch or just a cup of coffee.
You can see some pictures of their delicious spins and good yogurt if you follow my link

Minas Kaffebar
@freja
Minas coffee bar is located in the middle of Nørrebrogade and there are lots of outdoor seats out on the wide pavement.
Here you can get everything from the menu card for DKK 20. It can be anything from a cup of coffee to a rye bread sandwich to baked goods.
With this price, it is probably one of Copenhagen's cheapest places! But they still have delicious stuff.
There are often many people who also do it, sometimes it can be a bit difficult to get a seat, but otherwise you can order a togo and go over to the assistant's cemetery which is directly opposite.
If you want to see some pictures from there, check out my link.

Copenhagen's landmark
It is a must when you are in Copenhagen to see the Queen Louise Bridge and take a walk around the lakes!
Dronning Louises Bro
@freja
Queen Louise's bridge runs over Peplingesø and Sortedamsøen, which are part of the lakes that are simply referred to as "the lakes" in everyday speech. The bridge connects the Nørrebro neighborhood with Copenhagen's inner city.
Dronning Louise's bridge is the place in Denmark where the most cyclists travel every day. Therefore, there is often a lot of bicycle traffic, but the bridge's wide pavement also provides space for many people to use the bridge as a place to enjoy the sun, meet friends and drink a beer, and often there are also many people who have a speaker with them and listen to loud music .
The bridge was built in 1887 and is therefore a fixture when you think of Copenhagen.
If you want to see a video from the bridge, follow my link.

Søerne
@freja
The lakes are located in the middle of Copenhagen and are one of the most visited places in Copenhagen. There are often many people walking or running around the lakes here. the trip around all the lakes is approx. 6.5 km.
Grab a cup of coffee at a local cafe and take it with you when you go for a walk around the lakes with music in your ears or a friend under your arm.
The lakes lie between the border at Vesterbro and Frederiksberg through the inner city and Nørrebro and end at Østerbro.
if you have the opportunity, you should also visit the lakes in the evening. Here, you have the opportunity to see the legendary lampshades that have hung and lit up for an entire lifetime. There has often been talk of the light signs having to be switched off during energy crises or even taken down, but Copenhagen holds firm and the signs are allowed to hang.
One sign is the IRMA sign, which is an old advertisement for a supermarket that has been part of the coop chain. The supermarket has been located exclusively in the Copenhagen area and has been characterized as one of the delicious, luxurious supermarkets. To the astonishment of many Copenhageners, coop chose to close the chain in April 2023. However, we can still change the groin sign.
You have the best view if you stand on the inner city side and to the right of the Queen Louise Bridge. It will be on Østersø gade.

Dinner
After a long day, it's finally time to have some delicious dinner. I suggest one of the following three:
Foodclub has the most delicious buffet you will ever experience. MaoBao if you fancy Asian cuisine. Roberta If you fancy South American cuisine.
Food Club Nørrebro
@freja
Foodclub is part of the Madklubben chain.
But foodclub differs from the other restaurants in the chain, as only buffets are sold.
Buffets are often associated with mediocre food, but that is NOT the case here at all! It's super delicious and the servings on the table are on small platters, as new fresh servings come in all the time, so you get the best experience of the food.
There are both servings with fish, meat and many vegetarian dishes and salads.
The prices for the food depend on time.
1.5 hours costs 275 from Monday to Thursday and 325 from Friday to Sunday.
In addition, it costs DKK 50 per extra 30 minutes
Included in the price is as much as you can eat at the buffet, which also includes dessert, but it also includes drinks, where you can choose between various soft drinks, lemonades, red and white wine but also bubbles. It is all freely available and you can go up yourself and supply yourself as often as you want.
If you think the price is a little too high, but you still want to taste their food, they are part of the Too Good To Go app, where you can buy a box and take togo.

Roberta - Restaurant Nørrebro
@freja
Roberta is part of the Madklubben chain. It is a South American inspired cuisine where it is obvious that you order several small dishes such as tacos, fried green peppers, pineapple salad and much more.
They also have quite a few drinks, which also taste super delicious and fresh.
The surroundings are super cozy both indoors and outdoors and pleasant music is played and in addition the staff are really nice and attentive.
the prices are in the medium-high class and you can expect a dinner for two with drinks to cost around DKK 500.

Bar or club
If you want to experience the Copenhagen nightlife as part of your day in Nørrebro, I recommend one of the two below.
Dupong if you are in the mood for a beer, a game of table tennis, a cheap drink and good bodega game.
RUST hvis du er humør til natklubsstemning og en lang nat på dansegulvet.
Dupong
@freja
Dupong is a table tennis bar in the middle of Nørrebro.
Here you can rent a table tennis bat and play "around the table" with the rest of the bar's guests. When you no longer feel like playing, you can trade the bat back for a beer.
The prices are generally at the very cheap end and therefore there are often many students staying here. On Wednesdays and Thursdays you can get two identical drinks for the price of one. Their drinks are surprisingly good!
Quizzes are often held on Fridays, where there is a theme such as different series, films or something else.
Details
RUST
@freja
RUST is a nightclub in the heart of Nørrebro. The club has been there since 1990 and several generations of young Copenhageners have created good memories and partied at the club.
The club is also a venue and therefore there is often live music or performers. Keep an eye on their instagram or website where they continuously update.
Every Friday and Saturday there is a drag disco dance with lots of disco music and an entertaining show.
Here at the club there are guests of all ages, but often the segment is between 23-45 years old. So if you're looking for a place where you don't stand with the very young and untried in the nightlife, then RUST could well be something for you.
Practical information:
The age limit for all concerts is 18+
If you come before midnight, there is free entry.
They do not accept cash, only debit cards.

Thanks for reading along! I hope you had a good day at Nørrebro and that you had some fun experiences and ate some delicious food!
