This guide centers on three of my favorite places in Brooklyn, two of which are parks. Each destination is less than a 15-minute walk from the other, so once you're in Brooklyn, you won't have to worry about any transportation. Enjoy each place for as long as you'd like, and then head to the next.
This guide can be used for a day trip to Brooklyn, or use it as a guide to spending just a morning or an afternoon choosing what you'd like to see.
You can also use it to spend multiple days in Brooklyn if you decide you want to spend longer at each place. It includes three main destinations to visit, all within walking distance to each other, things to do and see in each place, food & drink options, and more!
This area of Brooklyn offers incredible views of urban Manhattan across the water, parks that feel like botanical gardens, historic places, great photo spots, and amazing food. As a local, it truly has my heart. When I feel down, I go to these places, and when I feel up, I still go. I love them, and I think they should be for everyone. They're in the heart of Brooklyn with views of Manhattan, without the stressful crowds. They're safe, and you can find public restrooms no matter where you are 😉

Brooklyn Bridge Park

This park is one of my favorite places in Brooklyn. There's something here for everyone & it's always a place that I take people when they visit.
Depending on what kind of person you are, there are a lot of different ways to explore Brooklyn Bridge Park. You can just walk through it, have a picnic, and explore the different pathways to find hidden gems full of beautiful plants, art, & sometimes waterfalls. You can head to the edge by the water and take in the views of the Brooklyn Bridge & Manhattan across the water.
If you're looking to be more active, you can rent electric bikes or scooters and bike around the park, or go for a run. There are also areas where you can enjoy ping pong, roller skating, volleyball, basketball, and even (in the summer) kayaking!
If you aren't in a rush, you can spend the whole day at this park, enjoying the activities with your friends. There are a lot of hidden spots to explore with lots of bridges and paths.
If you are into plants, there are a lot of unique plants & trees to check out. The city of New York used this park to preserve a lot of different types of flora.
If you're interested in art, the city installs different art installations that change regularly. You'll see various sculptures and installations throughout the park at any given time.
If you want to have a picnic, there are lots of good grassy areas for picnics. It's a great spot to hang out with friends, by yourself, or on a date.
The best part...you have beautiful views of Manhattan from everywhere in the park.
