A HARRY POTTER Guide to LONDON 🪄🧙‍♀️
Warner Bros. Studio Tour
I only have one word to describe the whole experience: magical. During your visit you’ll get to go on sets, see the real props and costumes, learn more about the creature effects and the art department. You’ll even be able to taste Butterbeer ice cream, yummy! The studio is located in Leavesden, 20 miles north-west of London. There are many ways to get there. I personally chose to travel from central London direct to the Studio Tour by bus with Golden Tours.Â
King's Cross Station
King’s Cross is a passenger railway terminus in London that opened in 1852. It’s one of the busiest stations in the UK. Over the years, the station has been used as a backdrop for several movies. One of them was the Harry Potter series, particularly the fictional Platform 9¾ located between platforms 9 and 10. Look out for a luggage trolley embedded in the wall to make your Harry Potter dreams come true! The trolley is accessible at all hours for you to take your best picture! Right next door, you will find the Platform 9¾ shop.
House of MinaLima
Located in Soho, House of MinaLima is a gallery exhibiting and selling originals from the design studio behind the graphic props of the Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts films, founded by Miraphora Mina and Eduardo Lima.Â
Millenium Bridge
The Millennium Bridge, a modern architectural marvel spanning the River Thames in London, may seem like an ordinary pedestrian bridge at first glance. However, for fans of the Harry Potter series, it holds a special significance as the site of a dramatic and iconic scene.
In "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince," the Death Eaters unleash chaos upon London, and one of the most memorable moments occurs on the Millennium Bridge. In a terrifying display of their power, Death Eaters cast the dark spell known as the Cruciatus Curse, causing the bridge to buckle and sway violently as panicked Muggles flee in terror.
Today, visitors to London can stroll across the Millennium Bridge, reliving the magic of Harry Potter while marveling at the breathtaking views of the city skyline.
Leadenhall Market
In the Harry Potter films, Leadenhall Market serves as the exterior for the fictional shopping district of Diagon Alley. As Harry ventures into this enchanted alley for the first time, he is immersed in a world of wonder and magic, encountering everything from wand shops to broomstick emporiums.
From Ollivanders wand shop to the Leaky Cauldron pub, the spirit of Diagon Alley is palpable in every corner of this historic market.
Piccadilly Circus
In "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows," during the height of Voldemort's reign of terror, the Death Eaters wreak havoc on London, causing chaos and destruction throughout the city. One of the most memorable scenes takes place in Piccadilly Circus, where Death Eaters descend upon the area, casting dark spells and spreading fear among the unsuspecting Muggle population.
Harry Potter Statue at Leicester Square
A bronze statue depicting Daniel Radcliffe as Harry Potter has recently joined the Scenes in the Square statue trail at London's Leicester Square.
