One convertible mustang, one highway, seven days and a whole lot of fun!

Come north with us, from San Diego to San Francisco, driving along the PCH while California Dreaming

San Diego

Gaslamp Quarter

Our first stop was at San Diego all the way to the south! We spent our day walking around the Gaslamp Quarter and the Historic part of the City.

La Jolla Cave

The main event of our stay in San Diego was a Snorkel Cove and Cave Tour in La Jolla

!!! WE GOT TO SEE AND SWIM ALONG SEA LIONS !!! you can even hear them in the video!!

The water was quite cold, as expected, once we are in the pacific, in a bay, on a cloudy spring day, but the wetsuits did their function and helped us not freeze with the water temperature (15°C| 58°F)

Temecula

Hot Air Baloon Ride

California Dreamin' Balloon Adventures
@lauraluchesi
Beautiful views once up high and even got a little treat once we landed!

Our next stop was in this beutiful small city full of vineyards. Once we woke up (at 04:10AM!!!!), we got picked up from our hotel and went look for a good launching spot! The basket fit around 13 people counting the driver

Worth every single penny, amazing sights and an unparalled experience

Dana Point

While going up north trough PCH, you will pass a city called Dana Point. It has a beautiful reserve, with various hike trails for you to choose from!

One of those, trails off the beach and leads to the Pirate Cave - 100% worth the stop!

Dana Point Caves
@lauraluchesi
40min walk on rocks to see the cave! Please be cautious of the tide, once it gets high it would be almost impossible to walk back the track!

Laguna Beach

Up next was our stay overnight at Laguna Beach! We got a room in this lovely hotel by the beach

We enjoyed a quiet night out and used this time to relax and recenter, with this view similar to one from europe's seaside towns.

This hotel is lovely! Very blue and white-y, with quite a lot of marble statues and quite quaint!

Ragged Point Inn

Our next stop is as much of a hotel as a landmark, we got to spent the night right in the middle of the reserve!

Ragged Point Inn & Resort
@lauraluchesi

It already looked amazing at night, but by morning light the view got even more breathtaking

17 Mile Drive

17 Mile Drive
@lauraluchesi
What to say about this drive? A tour in a luxury site surrounded by nature and with breathtaking views.

I was so excited to drive along this way! Just between Monterey and Carmel-by-the-Sea, at Pebble Beach, there is the iconic 17-Mile Drive! A self-driven car tour with stunning houses and views, and a guide to everything and anyhting you would like to see during your visit!

Golf Course? They've got it.

Wildlife? Of Course.

A standing cypress, all alone on a rock? Oh Yes!

You can check the map for the whole drive in the document below

Pfeiffer Beach

Have you ever heard of a purple sanded beach?

No?! Well, that's Pfeiffer Beach for you.

It's kind of hidden at the end of a long, winding trail, with amazing rock structures, frankly too cold water, and honest-to-God purple sand.

@lauraluchesi
Even though there is the infamous purple sand, beware of the very rocky trail to get there

Point Lobos

Just around Camel there is a reserve 100% worth looking at it!

Between the Instagrammable sites and lovely places to just sit and admire, the reserve is a lovely place to unwind and relax!

San Francisco

And our journey finally arrives at it's destination, San Francisco ladies and gentleman.

City Tour

We only stayed for 2 days so logically our choice was to take a city tour! But with a catch, we hired a GoCar Tour!

You drive this little yellow tricicles around town with a audioguide both guiding you on the route and explaining the tourist sites and historic buildings!

See the same unic views with a little extra pizzaz (ie. we got to go down on the famous Lombard Street, with a little bit more thrill)

Cable Cars

and we obviously had to take a trip down the city in the famous Cable Cars!

It's quite easy to board one of those: you just have to go to a cable car turntables (the beginning or end of one of the 3 lines), buy the ticket, board the cable car and enjoy the experience!! - you can hop off in wherever stop you'd like.

Thanks for going up north with me :)
