To visit all of the mentioned places above, the most convenient mode of transportation is a rickshaw. During our visit, we negotiated a deal with a rickshaw driver who agreed to take us to all the sites in a single afternoon for a reasonable fare of just 200 rupees. This allowed us to efficiently explore the attractions and make the most of our time in Kochi.

Downtown Alappuzha, also known as Alleppey, is a bustling and vibrant city center. Uday Backwaters Resort is a great mid-range family friendly hotel in Alappuzha. It is located on the shores of the Vembanad Lake, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is just a short walk from downtown Alappuzha. The resort has a spa, restaurant, and outdoor swimming pool.
We really enjoyed the hospitality and amenities at Uday Backwaters Resort. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the rooms were spacious and comfortable. We also loved the secluded location on the backwaters, which was perfect for relaxing and enjoying the scenery.

Transportation: Kochi and Alappuzha are well-connected by road, rail, and air. It takes about 1 hour to drive from Kochi to Alappuzha. Cochin International Airport serves as the gateway to both cities. Local transportation options to and from both places include taxis, auto-rickshaws, boats, and public buses.
Mosquito precautions: Carry mosquito repellents, especially during the evenings, as the backwaters and coastal areas may have mosquitoes. I recommend buying Odomos, a great non-sticky mosquito repellent cream that is widely available in India.
Local cuisine: Don't miss trying traditional Kerala dishes such as appam, fish curry, and banana chips.
Accommodations: When it comes to accommodations, both Kochi and Alappuzha offer a diverse range of options, catering to different budgets and preferences.
