Introduction

This guide is designed for a wide variety of interests. Since living and studying here, I was able to experience a lot of what this historic city has to offer and categorized in the following categories. If you don't have any one particular interest, I would recommend you one of each: palaces, art museums, churches, parks, and then add in your food and drink options throughout your day, and evening activities, aka the opera.

The main sights are totally walkable within the city centre (1st district). However, depending on the amount of time you are spending in the city, it may be worthwhile to get a transportation pass (for example 72 hours), which allows you to get to places further out from the city centre, such as Schönbrunn palace, Prater, and the walking trails "Stadtwanderwegs".
